Job Title: Chief Financial Officer

Location: Abuja
Business Unit: Cainergy Group 
Reports To: Co-CEO 

Job Objective / Purpose of Job

  • The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the efficient and effective operation and management of the finance/accounting and business support functions of the company, based on professional experience in accountancy, information technology, internal control, and taxation. 

Job Duties / Responsibilities / Accountabilities

  • Oversee and manage all company accounts and investments.
  • Develop budgets and financial plans for the company/ group based on research and data analysis.
  • Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities.
  • Examine all financial reports (internal and external) closely to check for discrepancies.
  • Create systems to prevent errors in data collection, computations, classification and posting.
  • Report to the CEOs with timely and accurate financial information.
  • Assist the CEOs in presenting reports to Executive Management, Stakeholders and Board Members.
  • Create periodic performance reports - monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends relative to financial forecasts/ budgets.
  • Manage cash flows by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal controls.
  • Supervise and manage finance and accounts department staff, including accountants and financial assistants.
  • Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems, including contract accounting, taxation, payroll and billing.
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are properly classified, recorded, disclosed and reported.
  • Ensure tax, legislative and statutory requirements are met.
  • Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislations.
  • Collaborate and liaise with external auditors to ensure proper compliance with all regulations relevant to business operations.

  Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or Master's Degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Recognized Professional Accounting Qualifications – (preferably ACA, ACCA, CPA, ICMA).
