Western Development Company Limited (WDCL) is an indigenous company offering services to local and international oil and gas companies for over 25 years now. Our services includes Procurement, Engineering and construction in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Instrumentation, in Onshore and Offshore brown field and green field projects. We also offer services on procurement and installation of Information Technology and Telecommunication projects.

We are working to extend our operations to oil drilling, completion and well maintenance services, provision of Badges, Tug Boats, Personnel Carriers, Security Vessels etc. In addition we working towards expanding our business to the shallow and deep offshore horizon.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

 


Job Title: Chief Accounting Officer

Location: Lagos

Duties
Duties of a Chief Accounting Officer include but not limited to:

  • Overseeing tax compliance, maintains awareness and conformity with all federal, state, local government and corporate laws and policies.
  • Managing financial reports, issues quarterly financial reports and other documents, assemble summary financial statements and prepare documents for annual financial review.
  • Managing ledger and financial accounts, audits accounts for errors and corrects any inconsistencies, monitors the general ledger accounting for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), other industry best practices and company guidelines.
  • Leading long-range strategic financial planning, manages capital assets, including tax planning and compliance, develops cost control systems and evaluates current accounting practices with a mindset of improvement.
  • Preparing financial analyses and budgets, prepares financial statements and reports to help interpret a company's financial position, direct a monthly closing procedure, and manage various accounting procedures.
  • Analyse accounts and suggest improvements to reduce costs and increase profits, make sure all financial data adheres to current tax laws and regulations, keep company accounts information confidential, represent the accounting department at board meetings.
  • Stay abreast of industry changes and current tax/accounting laws, prepare, manage, and present monthly reports, act as a liaison to outside auditors.
  • Asset protection, assures fiscal protection of assets, internal control, proper insurance coverage, economic appraisal, and social conditions.
  • And any other work-related task assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, MBA, ACCA, CFA
  • Experience: 5 -10 years.
  • Excellent financial and analytical abilities
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills,
  • High attention to detail.
  • Essentials: Accounting, Business Management, Communication, Leadership, Strategic Planning, Relationship Building, Extensive business experience and strategic knowledge.
  • Skilled in Microsoft suite: proficient in complex accounting systems, budgeting, and bookkeeping

Remuneration
N350,000 Monthly.
