Job Title: Senior Reconciliation Specialist - Jumia Pay
Location: Lagos

Description
- Jumia Pay is a new and free online payment service that enables you to send payments online securely, instantly, and cost-effectively.
Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for the reconciliation and settlement activities within JumiaPay, facilitate complete and accurate processing of settlement figures for all transactions/products by ensuring that required due diligence is performed.
In particular, you will:
- Ensure daily reconciliation of all transactions and provide daily/weekly reconciliation and settlement reports to the AR Manager
- Keep record of the relevant KPI’s for the businesses Analysis and reporting of settlement/payment activities to the AR Manager
- Documentation of processes, procedures, resolution guides etc. for the reconciliation department
- Continually evaluate and recommend best practice business process throughout payment value chain
- Support each bank E-business team in resolving settlement and reconciliation issues
- Liaise with Bank Settlement team to ensure reconciled funds are transferred
- Monitor the income/fees’ reconciliation with Settlement banks, NIBSS and other clients and ensuring value is transferred to the company account’s promptly
- Perform daily/weekly analysis of bill payment data: Trends, failure rates etc and extract Business Intelligence from payment data
- Develop and maintain business relations with NIBBS, value card (Visa, MasterCard etc), unified payments, Interswitch, and JumiaPay settlement banks
- Ensure daily reconciliation of and correct postings of all cards and other electronic channels transactions
- Verify the incoming and outgoing payment reports
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in or higher preferably in Accounting or other discipline in Social Sciences from a recognized University.
- Minimum of 8 years working experience in Cards/Mobile/FinTech company, fully integrated in all aspects of settlement and daily reconciliation process
- Detailed understanding of the operational aspects of payment cards, mobile payments and banking industry
- Previous experience within a Reconciliation, Settlement or Middle Office environment
- Excellent documentation skills and use of collaboration tools
- Advanced level of Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, Vlookups, and Nestedifs formulas).
- Ability to interpret Financial Data from various systems and in various format.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- B.Sc in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field
- 5+ years of leadership experience, managing finance, accounting and operational processes
- Proven ability to influence finance and non-finance teams through a mixed set of finance skills (commercial finance, accounting, FP&A, audit, operations)
- Must have strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills; with the ability to work with cross functional teams and senior management
- Experience of analyzing large volumes of data
- Expertise in SQL, PowerPivot & Excel
- Ability to communicate data-based decisions to individual contributors as well as leadership. You can articulate clearly and defend your decision-making processes.

Job Title: Assistant Head of Accounting - Jumia

Responsibilities
- As the Assistant Head of Accounting , you will drive the implementation of secure and robust accounting processes and procedures including month end closings, AR/AP, cash management, payroll and bank reconciliations.
In particular you will be:
- Responsible for the daily accounting activities required to accurately maintain the company’s general ledger, subsidiary ledgers, and other financial records and schedules.
- Managing and maintaining the financial accounting system, and all accounting processes including daily accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash collection, GL, payroll, bank, inventory reconciliation and tax filings
- Supervising, directing and reviewing the work of a team of senior accountants (Heads of AP, AR, Inventory, Treasury) and their teams. Establishing working procedures and process for accounting personnel.
- Managing monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities.
- Reviewing general ledger on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy of posting.
- Preparing and entering monthly adjusting journal entries.
- Generating quarterly and annual financial statements (balance sheet, profit and loss, cash flow) monthly.
- Assisting the Financial Planning team with budget and forecast preparation schedule by collecting relevant business data and projections from the line departments and provide relevant analyses and feedback to enable finalization of the budget and forecast proposals and all related reports including profit & loss, balance sheet and cash flow statements.
- Evaluating & implementing internal and external audit recommendations & provides feedback to management on results
- Ensuring compliance with all country legal, regulatory and tax reporting requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant with at least 8 years of accounting experience, of which at least 3 years in Managerial level or more
- Bachelor's in Business, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or a related discipline
- Master's degree in Finance, Economics or similar discipline is preferred Relevant professional qualification in Finance and Accounts e.g. ICAN, ACCA etc.
- Experience with computerized accounting i.e. QB, Navision, SAGE, Excel
- Previous FMCG experience and Ecommerce experience is a plus proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power point) tools.
- Working knowledge of Google Office Productivity Tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills
- Excellent analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills required
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work to deadlines and targets, can prioritize tasks under pressure.
