Balogun Gambari Microfinance Bank Limited was established and promoted by Gambari, Ibagun and Zango Ward 1 in order to cater for the banking needs of the community and its environs. The Bank then was established and incorporated under the Company and Allied Matters Act 1990 as a Limited Liability Company and commenced banking operations on the 28th of June, 1994 at her registered office located at 1 Ojagboro Junction, Balogun Gambari Road, Ilorin. Following the successful recapitalization exercise in 2008, the Bank’s name was changed from Community Bank to Balogun Gambari Microfinance Bank and located at the same registered address after meeting the statutorily required capital base.

The Bank was saddled with the responsibility of providing banking services to the people of the immediate community and its environs and promotes savings Habit of the active poor, most of whom the conventional banks could not serve. Balogun Gambari Microfinance Bank also focuses on Small and Medium Scale Enterprises, Traders, Farmers, the underserved and those with a flair for true high returns on investments.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Business Unit Head

Location: Ilorin, Kwara
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Purpose

  • The aim of the role is to source for new clients, generate business & income for the bank as well as supervise respective teams to ensure the Banks profitability.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands the company’s customer base and ensures its strong presence
  • Own and hit/exceed annual sales targets within assigned territory and accounts
  • Understand category-specific landscapes and trends, reporting on the forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction of accounts
  • Develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction
  • Achieve growth within the Key performance indicators; liability and risk asset generation, account opening and income generation.
  • Evaluate creditworthiness by processing loan applications and documentation within specified limits.
  • Develop referral networks and cross-sell products and services to accomplish quotas
  • Identify market trends and conduct market research to identify selling possibilities and evaluate customer needs.
  • Actively seek out new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking and referrals
  • Negotiate/close deals and handle customer complaints or objections.
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction
  • Continuously improve through feedback.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
  • Keep up to date with product information and accurately describe product features and benefits
  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships
  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while beingfully aware of new products and competition status
  • Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentations

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess a B.Sc / HND in Accounting, Finance or relevant field;
  • Evidence of completion/ exemption of/from NYSC
  • MCP certification is mandatory

Experience:

  • Five (5) or more years of experience in a similar position, preferably in the financial industry
  • Previous experience in a marketing capacity is strongly desired with Proven sales experience of consistently meeting or exceeding targets
  • Thorough understanding of marketing and negotiating techniques
  • Trend identification and product development

Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels societal levels.
  • Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
  • Friendly, helpful, confident and engaging personality
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
