The Complex
- The Vice-Presidency, Technology and Corporate Services (TCVP) is responsible for the design, development and delivery of efficient, people-centered, client-oriented, corporate services and information-technology solutions to ensure overall institutional effectiveness in all aspects of the Bank’s corporate services. The Complex provides leadership in the formulation and implementation of Bank’s strategies, policies, controls and approaches on organizational information technology systems, software applications, cyber security, IT support and infrastructure systems. The Complex is also responsible for management of the Bank’s real estate assets, institutional procurement, language services and business continuity.
The Position
- Reporting to the Director Corporate Programs, the Business Analyst creates, reviews, analyses and calculates historical and statistical data and generates reports on all aspects of the work program and agreed deliverables to be used by Senior Management in order to improve the complex efficiency and delivery.
The incumbent will be responsible for:
- Leading the data collection and analysis work to identify trends, predict shortcomings and propose corrective measures. The information provided from the analysis will be used to support the decision-making process of the Vice President on key commitments as well as the setting of the executive performance agreement between the Directors and the Vice President.
- Providing the Director, the lead advisor, the chief delivery officer and the management teams with relevant analysis and reports regarding status of delivery on the complex commitments, initiatives and deliverables and ensure the monitoring of the complex Dashboard.
- Providing support in all aspects of the reporting and work closely with the focal points in the units to ensure reporting routines are implemented complex-wide.
Key Functions
Data Collection & Analysis:
- Collect and store data from different sources.
- Work closely with the focal points in the org. units reporting to the Vice President to implement data collection routines.
- Draft the progress report on audit recommendations
- Collect data and prepare analyses for the front office and for the complex, contributing to briefs for the Vice President and other documents.
- Assist in collecting and reviewing input on the complex performance for the budget and work programme reports, the results measurement framework (RMF) and the Africa Development Effectiveness Report (ADER), among others.
- Develop training materials on the use of the data and the reports.
- Be responsible for the design of reports to respond to recurrent and ad hoc queries.
- Report on the complex performance on its Key Performance Indicators (KPI), key deliverables and commitments.
- Whenever possible, predict shortfall and underperformance and propose corrective measures.
- Draft monthly flash reports for the President and the Senior Management.
Policies & Processes and Interactions with the Stakeholders:
- Identify areas of improvement of the Reports in view of permanently optimizing efficiency and reliability of the use of the Data.
- Maintain and nurture good communication within the complex in general and with the focal points in particular.
- Develop and maintain appropriate benchmarks with other organizations.
- Coordinate TCVP Management response to internal audit assignments.
- Interact with partner org. units and counterparts in sister organizations to promote and implement good practices in the areas of data management and reporting.
- Participate to the different task forces to improve process efficiency and data quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Competencies (Skills, Experience and Knowledge)
- At least a Master’s degree in Management, Business administration, Computer Science or related disciplines.
- At least four (4) years of relevant work experience preferably in an international organization.
- Demonstrates professional competence.
- Conscientious and efficient in meeting commitments, observing deadlines and achieving results.
- Communicate and write effectively in French or English, with a good working knowledge of the other language.
- Competence in the use of standard Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- A professional qualification in data visualization is desirable.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build complex templates for data collection and analysis.
- Strong understanding of data analysis and interpretation with ability to communicate to non-experts complex concepts in written and verbal manner.
