St.Ives Specialist Hospital is a multi-specialist hospital which opened in 1996. The hospital offers dedicated specialist services in all matters of women, children and family health, managed by a group of consultants in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Medicine & Surgery.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:



Job Title: Biomedical Engineer
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities
Maintenance and Repairs:

  • Conduct regular servicing and preventive maintenance for all medical equipment to meet or exceed a 95% compliance rate, verified by service logs and trackers.
  • Respond to maintenance requests across all branches, completing minor repairs and troubleshooting within 48 hours of notice or escalation.
  • Ensure all equipment is serviced according to regulatory and safety standards, performing necessary safety tests and conducting end-user training.

Patient Safety and Quality Initiatives:

  • Lead at least three quality or service improvement initiatives bi-annually to enhance the performance, safety, and longevity of medical devices, directly supporting improved patient care outcomes.
  • Achieve 100% patient safety by proactively ensuring equipment is maintained and serviced to avoid operational disruptions.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to local and international regulatory requirements in all equipment servicing and maintenance.
  • Document all servicing, maintenance, and repair activities, and promptly address any compliance issues to align with regulatory standards.

Service Level Agreement (SLA) Compliance:

  • Monitor, manage, and execute all SLAs for medical equipment to uphold high standards for service and functionality in alignment with vendor agreements and hospital standards/requirements.

Performance Tracking and Reporting:

  • Track equipment performance benchmarks, generating regular reports on compliance, uptime, and safety measures to identify areas for improvement and maintain high operational standards.

Key Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: BSc in Biomedical Engineering or related field. Certifications in medical equipment maintenance are an advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years managing laboratory, nursing, surgical, and other medical equipment.
  • Soft Skills: Teachable, detail-oriented, proactive, with effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in troubleshooting, regulatory standards, and equipment maintenance protocols.

Salary
N500,000 - N700,000 monthly.
