CarlSmith Bakery is a bakery in Obafemi, Owode owned by husband and wife duo, Bakare Smith and Bakare Caroline. We will specialize in bread, for a start, and we are hoping to move into pastries and custom-made cakes and cupcakes in the future. CarlSmith Bakery is located in a highly-trafficked, convenient, and busy retail strip centre of Owode and is easily accessible to all residents of the community.

We don't just want to make a name for ourselves in the Owode community but to be able to make delicious custom-made-to-order bread and pastries for all types of events and gatherings, throughout the country. Job Title: Baker

Job Description

• We are looking for a Baker to prepare different types of bread. Baker's responsibilities include opening the bakery early in the morning, mixing dough, preparing fillings and glazing pastries.
• To be successful in this role, you should have work experience as a Baker and be able to use creative techniques in making bread and managing the work area.
• Ultimately, you will make sure we offer fresh and delicious goods to our customers on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

• Open the bakery early in the morning
• Clean kitchen equipment and tools before use
• Recommend recipes to renew our menu and attract more customers (e.g. gluten-free or vegan desserts)
• Track food supplies and place orders, as needed
• Weigh the flour and other ingredients to prepare the dough
• Bake different bread types, like croissants, baguettes, etc
• Adjust oven temperatures to ensure proper baking

Requirements and Skills

• Candidates should possess an SSCE / GCE / NECO qualification with 2 - 30 years work experience.
• Experience as a Baker, Pastry Chefor similar role
• Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders and dough sheeters
• Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
• Flexibility to work in shifts
• Certification from a culinary school is a plus
• Ability to use both fabricated and industrial oven machines.
• Understanding of food safety practices
• Excellent time-management skills
• Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment

Salary
N40,000 - N60,000 / month.
