Job Title: Audit Analyst-Oil & Gas

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

  • As an Auditor Analyst, you will be responsible for examining and evaluating financial records, internal controls, and operational processes to ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
  • Your analytical skills and attention to detail will be essential in identifying discrepancies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • This role will require you to collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicate findings effectively, and contribute to the overall financial health and compliance of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Auditing: Conduct financial audits to review and verify accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards, policies, and regulations.
  • Communication: Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to communicate audit results, provide guidance, and assist in implementing improvements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to contribute to the enhancement of audit methodologies.
  • Operational Auditing: Assess operational processes and procedures to identify inefficiencies, risks, and areas for improvement.
  • Risk Assessment: Analyze financial and operational data to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize analytical tools and software to process and interpret large datasets, identifying trends and anomalies.
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed audit reports, documenting findings, recommendations, and compliance issues.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Monitor adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements, ensuring corrective actions are taken when necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. ICAN, ACA or ACCA or relevant certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, data analytics software).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey audit findings and recommendations.
  • Proven experience in financial or operational auditing, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, auditing standards, and relevant regulations. FIRS
