Job Summary
Responsible for formulating and aligning with Group the execution of strategic agenda for Investment Advisory with the purpose of maximizing growth, market share & profitability for Investment Services. Role entails taking ownership and providing leadership towards delivery of 

  • Investment Service P&L Ambition
  • Provision of Investment Advice to Clients and Relationship Managers to meet the client’s desired investment objectives and increase bank’s “share of client wallet”
  • Determine client’s risk appetite, investment preference and return expectations by partnering with Relationship Managers in client meetings
  • Provision of relevant solutions given client needs/ objective
  • The Senior Investment IA plays a key role in liaising with the product managers within the Product development team (CMPS, BA and MI) on an ad-hoc basis to discuss client requirements as well as on a more frequent basis to ensure flow of product knowledge.  
  • Drive customer experience through quality advice strategy, products offer, RMs’ relationship.
  • Provide independent opinion on quality of client’s existing portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the Head, Investment Advisory in the development and execution of marketing initiatives for the acquisition, retention and growth of target customer base.
  • Directly work with customers to deepen and secure new business relationships through the analysis of needs and provision of Investment services.
  • Creatively tailor products to meet individual customer needs.
  • Analyse and review quality of potential and existing business to ensure maximum profitability.
  • To periodically visit the branches with the objective of providing support in marketing their customers, disseminating information on Wealth Management products and understanding their Investment Needs
  • To maintain constant relationship with retail customers through site visits and telephone calls.
  • Market new Investment products.
  • To identify opportunities for cross – selling and referral to other SCB lines through developing and maintaining a close understanding of customers’ businesses.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all actual and attempted customer interactions.
  • Attend customer meetings that have defined call objectives, desired outcomes and a well-constructed plan.
  • Liaise and provide leadership in areas of expertise, particularly in the provision of products and services to customers.
  • Responsible for delivering a service that matches the Bank’s brand promise of being ‘The Right Partner’, to customers.

Strategy:

  • Has overall responsibility for the development, preparation, implementation and delivery of Retail Banking Clients Wealth Solutions strategic plan, working in close liaison with Relationship Managers, Team leads and Segment Head. 

Business:

  • Drive client revenues and returns for Retail Banking
  • Provide direction, migrate best practices, challenge performance within Retail Banking and utilise MIS to drive results.
  • Work closely with RMs, Team Leads, Acquisition and other stakeholders that support the team to increase customer penetration
  • Drive active management of key clients to grow Wealth Solutions Team Wallet.
  • Active RM performance monitoring – spot areas of underperformance and take corrective action.

Processes:

  • Ensure all processes are adhered to, in line with approved policies and procedures within the Priority Clients Segment.

Risk Management:

  • Ensure that adequate and appropriate systems and controls are in place to comply with Group and Business Policies, Procedures Standards and Codes.
  • Ensure Operational Risk Management and Reporting is an integral part of the business process.

Regulatory & Business Conduct:

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications - A First Degree or equivalent in any discipline and relevant professional certifications 
  • Minimum Experience - Minimum of 5 years Banking Experience

Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge and understanding of local and global Wealth Markets
  • Sound background and knowledge of Banking and ability to understand the flows and processes as it impacts the Investment space.
  • Sound market knowledge    
  • Analytics/ Problem solving
