Job Position: Assistant Fleet Manager

Location: Gombe

Job Function

This Job Function is a responsible managerial and administrative work in the operation of the goleasing fleet system and the repair and maintenance of vehicles. An employee allocated to this class of work is responsible for the overall operation of the goleasing fleet and the provision of automotive maintenance and repair services for the fleet. Work is performed under general direction of an administrative superior with performance being measured by total results.
Education and Experience


  • Graduation from an accredited university/polytechnic in an appropriate curriculum and thorough experience related to this class of work; or any equivalent combination of training or experience.
  • A post graduate qualification and/or a professional certification will be required for this Job Function.
  • Interested Candidates must be below 30 years of age with a minimum of three years relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Thorough knowledge of Fleets and Fleet Management is required and the principles and practices of vehicular maintenance and repair.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates the operation of vehicle maintenance and repair programs goleasing.
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates the goleasing fleet system.
  • Prepares and directs in-service training programs for newly employed personnel.
  • Reviews purchase requests for new and replacement vehicles.
  • Prepares short and long range plans for Taxi system operation including Taxi routing and scheduling within Gombe Metropolis.
  • Plans and administers a preventive maintenance and vehicular replacement program for goleasing owned vehicles.
  • Receives and processes vehicle accident and damage reports.
  • Prepares cost analysis and periodic management and operational reports.
  • Performs related duties as required.
