Job Title: Senior HRBP Manager
Locations: Lagos, Nigeria, Nairobi, Kenya, Kampala, Uganda, Cairo, Egypt
About the Role
- The Senior Manager-HRBP will be a key driver of engagement, talent management and change management across their population influencing a high growth- and performance-oriented culture. In addition, you will also support the Staff Experience team with the strategic project management of key strategic initiatives.
- This role reports into a Director Level HRBP.
- Andela is seeking an HR business partner (HRBP) to support Andela’s staff experience group by being a trusted business partner to multiple leaders, managers and employees. You will play a critical role in the design and implementation of strategic initiatives to retain and grow our most prized asset - our people! This is an amazing opportunity for a passionate and talented HRBP to innovate alongside a stellar growing team and equally passionate and driven managers. No two days will be the same and the work is challenging and rewarding.
- You will act as a primary point of contact for a designated population of managers and employees, serving as a connector to internal functions, an advisor on all people processes, procedures, and initiatives.
Responsibilities
Strategy Development and Implementation:
- Work closely with Staff Experience Lead and Country/Functional Leads to understand organizational challenges and design/implement creative solutions
- Coordinate and support the implementation of strategic initiatives within your population and more broadly.
Performance Management:
- Advise managers on team performance management via a data driven approach
- Work proactively to identify underperformance and address thoughtfully, manage underperformance professionally and swiftly when identified.
- Support employees and managers within your population to cultivate a high growth- and performance-oriented culture, and ensure that performance management experiences are effective and empowering, prioritising fairness and objectivity
Talent Development:
- Support leaders and managers on talent mapping and reviews to ensure implementation of recommendations from the Talent Development team
- Develop and implement workforce retention, career navigation and succession strategies.
- Connect employees and managers to compelling learning and development opportunities, mentorship, coaching for performance and growth, advising on career opportunities
Project Management:
- Coordinate and support the implementation and delivery of key strategic initiatives, including identifying risks and impact to delivery, as well as tracking and reporting progress and outcomes
- Implement effective change management strategies, providing subject matter expertise on risk mitigation and change delivery.
Employee Relations - Coach, Inspire, Influence:
- Ensure that all employee relations issues are properly identified, reported, investigated and resolved
- Serve as an escalation point for your population.
- Provide dedicated coaching to multiple managers and employees within your population with a specific focus on employee advocacy/engagement, HR fundamentals and process training, employee relations management and workplace investigations as appropriate
- Provide advice and counsel to managers and employees to ensure consistent application and integration of policies, procedures and practices at 100% compliance to promote an ethical and compliant work environment
Relationships, Collaboration:
- Build and maintain healthy relationships with key stakeholders
- Coach leaders/managers on proper management and communication practices
- Work closely and effectively with other cross-functional HRBPs, People Operations and Centers of Excellence (CoE) teams to identify best practices and use it to define effective business interventions
- Share knowledge and insights with the wider People team to help shape best practise and ensure business goals are in line with org-wide strategy.
Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (both verbal and written) skills, ability to present and facilitate effectively, and stellar emotional intelligence with a specific focus on self moderation, cultivating relationships and empathy.
- Previous HR project management experience preferred, including demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with different stakeholder sets
- Experience in a challenging, fast-changing, complex and matrixed business environment with a special focus on multiculturalism (and internationalism).
- Significant and relevant professional experience, most of which should be in an advisory HRM/HRBP role
- Knowledge of in-country employment regulations/statutes and capacity to apply them to Andela. Ability to adapt applicable global labor laws into local practices as required. Experience with other African countries a plus
- Solid track record in design and implementation of employee engagement strategies that have meaningfully impacted the individual and organization experience; previous experience in coaching employees/managers through complex, difficult issues and creating effective working partnerships with senior leaders

Job Title: Selection Quality Lead
Locations: Lagos - Nigeria, Nairobi - Kenya, Kampala - Uganda, Remote - Kigali, Rwanda, Cairo - Egypt, Accra - Ghana
About the Role
- As the Selection Quality Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring high quality technical evaluation of Andela’s Software Engineering candidates to ensure that the Engineering Recruiting team is able to recruit high quality engineers to meet client demand in a timely manner.
- You will also be responsible for iteratively maintaining the integrity of our selection model.
Responsibilities
- Oversee quality assurance for technical evaluation stages of Andela’s recruitment process and build necessary feedback loops to improve customer satisfaction
- Design and deliver ongoing training for Andela’s technical recruiters and interviewers to improve their abilities to assess diverse technical talent.
- Lead the cross-functional redesign and ongoing improvement of Andela's technical recruitment process, optimizing for candidate experience and customer satisfaction
- Build tools to streamline Andela’s technical recruitment process, such as automated scheduling and algorithmic candidate scoring
Qualifications
- Experience with learning design / curriculum development for technology related programs including technical assessments
- Experience working for a professional services company and an understanding of two-sided marketplace dynamics.
- 3+ years experience developing software, ideally focused on back-end in DevOps environment with understanding of front-end fundamentals

Job Title: Senior Director, Delivery Enablement

About the Role
- As such, you’ll need to be an expert in building, managing and measuring operational functions essential to the productivity of high performing service organizations, and can operate with a high degree of autonomy. You would be constantly asking yourself:
- How do I ensure that our Delivery teams have the best insights to better manage their portfolios and maximise growth and margins?
- How do I ensure that Andela’s Engineering teams are prepared, supported, and continue to grow as they deliver for our Partners?
- How do I ensure that my team is driving and achieving business outcomes despite cross-functional and cross-vendor change management?
- Andela’s Partner Engineering department is charged with delivering high value and quality software engineering services for our Clients (we call them Partners). Our core delivery model is embedded teams of software engineers who are remote and distributed.
- You will design, evolve and scale operational effectiveness that enable how our software engineers deliver for our partners. Including:
- The overall productivity and effectiveness of the delivery organization. Leveraging a small yet highly leveraged team who spike in analytical thinking, project and stakeholder management, and getting stuff done.
- The measurement and operational functions essential to Andela’s delivery across the partner journey. These include planning, reporting, quota setting and management, process optimization, training and program implementation.
- The systems and technologies used to differentiate and impact how Andela delivers. Enabling talented people to deliver their best, providing the support and quality control needed to help them through challenges, and developing the processes, protocols and procedures necessary to scale with our Partners.

- Andela is looking for a Senior Director to lead how we enable and power engineering services with a strong bias towards action that can spot what needs to be done, effectively prioritize and mobilize teams to accomplish Andela’s overarching goals.
Responsibilities
- Partners with multiple internal stakeholders, especially the heads of Talent Supply, Staffing, Demand, Operations etc to identify opportunities for delivery process improvement. Facilitates successful implementation of new programs through the delivery organization by ensuring well defined, efficient processes are utilized.
- With Technology and Revenue Operation leaders , primary owner of all software platforms used by Andela delivery functions. Prioritizes investments in enabling technologies in support of delivery productivity. Recommends changes and enhancements to tracking delivery and performance tracking platforms.
- Provides leadership to the delivery organization, and counsel to the executive team, in implementing engineering service delivery objectives that appropriately reflect Andela’s goals.
- Designs incentive compensation programs that reinforce delivery management strategy, and align with Andela’s business organization objectives.
- With the VP of Partner Engineering and Senior Directors, co-authors and co-owns the delivery strategy including, segmentation, resource allocation and cost of delivery.
- Designs, implements, and manages forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes. Establishes high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency in planning, forecasting, and budgeting approaches used by the sales organization.
- Defines the optimal performance measurements and performance management programs required to ensure success. Aligns reporting, training, onboarding and incentive programs with these performance management priorities. Leads efficient and accurate reporting initiatives.
Qualifications

- Willingness to travel periodically between Andela’s centers and our Partners’s offices.
- Four year degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field from an accredited university.
- Over 12 years experience enabling service delivery teams in software development, technology consulting and/or software product management
- A minimum of 5 years in leadership or executive teams dring excellence in service delivery.
- Proven ability to build, manage and grow a team-oriented and high-performing organization.
