Africa Real Estate Investment and Asset Management Company (ARIA) was
incorporated in 2011 as the asset management arm of the Persianas Group.
It is in charge of managing all its assets and ensuring the
maximization of revenue and efficient running of all its entities.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Asset Management Associate
Location: Lagos
Position Summary/Objectives
- This position is responsible for the management of a portfolio
of commercial retail assets, seeking to maximize the portfolio’s value
by continually guiding the value and use of the assets, while managing
the income, expenditure, finance, and associated risks as well as
environmental, social and governance issues
- This position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer/COO.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Investment Management:
- Determine a business plan for each asset, incorporating the
above and in particular seeking to grow, value and revenues and achieve
the aims of the group Asset Management and Investment Policy
- Analysis, research and financial modeling as appropriate;
- In line with the business plan (and review in the case of
existing property managers ), monitor and manage the property and
facilities management of each asset;
- Procure annual audits, and ensure compliance with group audit and financial policy;
- Procure compliance with the groups Environmental, Social and Governance Policies;
- Guide the determination of annual budgets and manage the implementation within the context of the business plans;
- Set up performance targets and measures for each asset;
- Continually monitor the potential of the asset and determine its hold, enhance, or sell status;
New Investments:
- Preparation of investment motivation papers (in terms of the group investment process) to be submitted to executive management;
- Analysis, research and financial modeling as appropriate;
- Determine asset management strategies to be procured for new
investments including, inter alia, generating financial projections,
financial management, leasing mix/plans, and managing leasing activity.
Reporting:
- Procure and guide succinct, management reports, in respect of the assets and or portfolio on a monthly basis;
- Procure and guide succinct investor/ financier reports as required
- As required, assist in determining appropriate report formats
Knowledge Base:
- Assist with the establishment of a group knowledge base, which
will seek to collect, collate, and extrapolate for use by the group,
real estate market information, performance and trends, relevant legal,
financial, statutory, environmental social and governance issues.
Policies/Procedures/Guidelines:
- Assist with the determination and preparation of group policies/ procedures/ and guidelines.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Good First Degree from a reputable tertiary institution preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics
- 5 years’ experience in a similar role or related function
- Excellent managerial, leadership, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills
- Demonstrated business development skills
- Strong financial modeling skills
- Professional qualifications a plus
