Main Purpose of Job
- The Job holder will assist with the day-to-day running of the estates and the office.
- Ensure deep cleaning and set-up of residential properties, ensure all properties and offices are prepared up to required UK standard.
- Ensure general upkeep and cleaning of the communal areas across the estates, collection, moving and delivery of floats and house packs to the various FCDO residencies within Abuja.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Drive furniture truck to deliver and collect furniture, white goods and domestic float round the residential estates, and ensure no damages is caused to the items while in transit and must report any damages to the Estates and Facilities Manager.
- Lead on lifting and moving of furniture items.
- Manage the delivery and collection of domestic float and reconcile with the Estate Admin/Float officer.
- Support the Facilities Manager with information for forecasting of furniture replacement/ revamp and upgrade rolling plan and provide information and data for inclusion in budget bids.
- Maintain inventory and distribution of all white goods and ensure all white goods are PAT tested and documented before installing them in the houses.
- Supervise cleaning and set-up of houses in readiness for new occupants and manage cleaning and upkeep of Transit houses across the estates.
- Supervise and ensure cleaning of the communal areas within the residential Estates and present weekly reports on all designated areas to the Estate and Facilities Manager.
- Prepare houses for refurbishment and ensure all furniture items are properly wrapped up and entire house folded.
- Conduct pre-folding checks (inventory) in vacated houses and report any concerns to the Estate Officer.
- Assist other teams within the mission with heavy lifting and moves on request as maybe directed by the Team lead.
- Perform administrative and any other duties that maybe assigned by the Estates and Facilities Manager.
- Provide cover for the Estate Store Officer and Estate Admin Officer when they are on leave.
- Collaborate with the Estate maintenance team during renovation and redecoration works and report any concerns to the Estate Officer.
- Coordinate laundry of all soft furnishings and provide monthly report to the Team Lead.
- Provide updates for feedback on all furnishing queries.
- Assist the Estate officer in charge of stores with setting up for official events around the Mission.
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Must hold either a BSC or HND.
- Valid Driving Licence.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Computer Skills: MS word, Excel, Teams.
- Good report writing skills.
