Fashion Designer Requirements, Skills & Qualifications

The following common skills and qualifications are required of a Fashion Designer:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Adobe Illustrator.
  • Excellent sense of style and color.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Availability to travel for research and product development.
  • Ability to do sketches by hand.
  • Excellent design and conceptual skills.
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines.
