PDMS Engineer Duties & Responsibilities
The role and function of a PDMS Engineer includes the following duties and responsibilities:
- Provide designs that are safe to operate and meet all required codes and standards and to perform data consistency check (datacon) & clash check.
- Prepare and check material data sheets and coordinate with procurement engineer.
- Document, record and report on meetings, progress of jobs and construction completions from design & validation reports from Project Engineers.
- Incorporate feed back from projects and customers for design clarification and modifications during the development and construction project phases.
- Perform 3D equipment and piping layout work and develop computer generated construction drawings for gas processing projects
- Perform 3D Model drawings using specifications, standard drawings, design instructions, plot plan, flow diagrams, line list and supplier information.
- Lead and manage a team of professional draftsmen and to allocate, prioritize and check work of a team of draftsmen.
- Develop designs from project specifications and to check and evaluate design and material specifications for tender.
- Communicate and interface with other project design and engineering disciplines.
- Complete PDMS drawings arrangement and piping isometrics and to check other departments design drawings and supplier equipment drawings.
- Prepare progress report for the project piping area/unit supervisor.
- Prepare line lists (LDT). Valve lists and drawings lists, specialty item lists, tie-in lists, hookup lists and pipe support lists.
- Review project specifications, administrative and technical practices, design instructions, plot plan, flow diagrams and supplier information
