Job Title: Company Secretary

Location: Kano

Job Description

  • To manage the Company Secretariat and ensure compliance with the Bank’s rules and regulations and manage reputational risk among the Bank’s stakeholders.
  • Maintaining and updating statutory books and filing periodic statutory returns.
  • Maintaining and updating vital shareholders’/share related files within the secretariat.
  • To provide legal counsel and support to the Bank as it relates to contracts, litigation and dispute resolution, credit & employment.
  • Provide first line/basic legal advice and liaise with the Bank’s lawyers as required.
  • Advise Directors on their legal responsibilities and updating them on developments in the law concerning the running of the bank.
  • Drafting and vetting of legal documents for disbursement of facilities including mortgage/debenture/lease documents bank-wide.
  • Collation, filing and archiving of security documents
  • Maintain liaison with external solicitors for mortgage perfection and monitoring perfection updates.

Key Competencies and Qualifications

  • First Degree in Law or Business Administration. LL.M, B.L or other Master’s degree would be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ post-graduation experience within the financial services industry with at least 5 years at Senior Management level.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Banking Operations (international & domestic)
  • Good policy development and management capabilities.

Job Title: Treasurer

Location: Kano

Job Responsibilities

  • To manage the liquidity of the Bank in a bid to actualize the objectives of the
  • Bank while complying with all regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement all policies as they relate to the treasury function.
  • Coordinate the assets and liabilities of the Bank.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal ratios as they relate to all
  • Treasury products and the Bank’s Balance sheet.
  • Overseeing the trading desk in the development and implementation of strategies and products to meet the Bank’s trading budgets.

Key Competencies and Qualifications

  • A first Degree or equivalent in any discipline and relevant Professional Certification e.g. ACI or Treasury Dealership Certificate.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ post-graduation experience out of which 8 years must have been spent in treasury related functions.
  • Excellent numerate skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of the local and global financial markets.
  • Excellent customer relationship development/management.
  • Good negotiation and social skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Bank’s products.
  • Analytical skills/problem-solving.

 

 

 

Job Title: Deputy Company Secretary

Location: Kano

Job Responsibilities

  • Deputize for the Company Secretary.
  • Enuring that all the components of the bank make statutory and regulatory filings and returns to the appropriate bodies
  • Assist with compilation and provide information for directors’ reports and notes.
  • Contribute to meeting discussions as and when required, and advising members on the legal governance of proposed policies.
  • Carry out documentation checklist bank-wide.

Key Competencies and Qualifications

  • First Degree in Law or Business Administration. LL.M, B.L or other master’sdegree would be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ post-graduation experience within the financial services industry.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Banking Operations (international & domestic)
