Vacancies at College of Education, Gindiri, Plateau State

The College of Education, Gindiri, Plateau State is a state owned tertiary institution established vide Plateau Stae Edict No. 26 of 1980 when the then government of late Chief Solomon Daushep Lar deemed it expedient floating a second college of education in the then Plateau State (with the first being the College of Education, Akwanga).

Job Title: Director of Work

Location: Gindiri, Plateau

Qualification and Experience

• Candidate should possess a minimum of Second Class Lower Degree in Architecture, Civil or Building Engineering from a recognised institution of higher learning with 22 years cognate experience; or Master's degree in Architecture, Civil or Building Engineering from a recognised institution of higher learning with 18 years cognate experience; or a Doctorate degree in Architecture, Civil or Building Engineering from a recognised institution of higher learning with 15 years post qualification cognate experience.
• Candidate should not be below the rank of a Deputy Director of Works on CONTEDISS 14 or GL 15.
• He / she must be registered with a relevant professional body.
• Knowledge of ICT shall be an added advantage.
• The candidate must not be above 60 years.

Job Title: College Librarian

Location: Gindiri, Plateau

Qualification and Experience

• Candidate should be a holder of Master's degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science from a recognised institution of higher learning, with at least 15 years cognate experience; or a Doctorate degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science from a recognised institution of higher learning with at least 12 years cognate experience.
• The candidate must be a registered member with a relevant professional body and should be computer literate.
• Having attained the rank of a Deputy Librarian in a Tertiary Institution is an added advantage.
• Candidate should not be more than 60 years of age.

Job Title: Bursar

Location: Gindiri, Plateau

Qualification and Experience

• Candidate should possess a minimum of Second Class Lower Degree in Business Administration or Accounting from a recognised University with at least 18 years post qualification cognate experience; or a Master's Degree from a recognised institution of higher learning with at least 15 years cognate experience; or a Doctorate Degree with at least 5 years cognate experience.
• Candidate should not be below the rank of a Deputy Bursar on CONTEDISS 14 or GL 15.
• He / she should be a registered member with a recognised professional Accounting Body.
• Candidate must have knowledge in ICT.
• The candidate must not be above 60 years.

Job Title: Registrar

Location: Gindiri, Plateau

Qualification and Experience

• Candidate must possess a minimum of Second Class Lower Degree (B.A. or B.Sc) in Social Sciences, Arts or Humanities from a recognised University, plus 18 years post qualification cognate experience; or a holder of Master's Degree in any of the disciplines mentioned above plus 15 years cognate experience; or a Doctorate Degree with at least 12 years cognate experience.
• Masters Degree in Public Administration (MPA) is an added advantage.
• Applicants should not be below the rank of a Deputy Registrar on CONTEDISS 14 or GL 15.
• Candidate should have evidence of registration with a recognised relevant professional body.

Job Title: Provost

Location: Gindiri, Plateau

Qualification and Experience

• Possession of a Ph.D or Master's Degree in Education and any academic discipline in a field relevant to at least one programme in the College from a recognised University and should not be below the rank of a Chief Lecturer on COMPCASS 15 or a Senior Lecturer from a University. The possession of Ph.D and knowledge of ICT shall be an added advantage.
• Must not have less than 15 years post-qualification cognate teaching and administrative experience in a Tertiary Institution, and must have served for 5 years as a Chief Lecturer in a College of Education or as a Senior Lecturer in a University.
• Must not be above 60 years of age.
• Should have potentials and capabilities for providing academic leadership and executive direction for an institution of this standing.
• Have considerable administrative experience in an institution of higher learning and must have made substantial contributions to teaching / knowledge through research / publications in scholarly professional journals and other publications.
• Must be of good conduct, possess sense of discipline, dedication, resourcefulness and be able to command the respect and loyalty of members of staff and students.
• Must be able to foster personal, social, ethnic, political, religious and other sectional interests.
