The company operates a private airport at El Nido, Palawan (El Nido Airport) and serves the aircraft transportation requirements of its affiliated company, El Nido Resorts, as well as operating on behalf of third parties.

Key Responsibilities and Background

  • Oversee day-to-day mining operations, including drilling, blasting, ore extraction, and transportation. Optimize processes for maximum efficiency and productivity.
  • Provide regular reports to senior management on the operation's performance, safety, production, and financial metrics.
  • Stay informed about and ensure compliance with all local, state, and national mining regulations and permits.
  • Implement quality control measures to maintain ore quality standards and reduce waste during the extraction and processing of tin. 
  • Prioritize and champion a culture of safety, ensuring that all mining activities comply with safety regulations and guidelines. Implement and maintain safety protocols, training programs, and emergency response plans.
  • Manage equipment, resources, and supplies efficiently to minimize downtime and reduce operational costs.
  • Ensure regular maintenance and replacement of equipment as necessary.
  • Develop and execute production plans, including ore extraction schedules, to meet production targets and maximize profitability.
  • Prepare and manage the mining budget, identifying opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining or improving safety and production standards.

Critical Skills & Personal Attributes

  • 7-10 years of experience in underground mining operations, with a proven track record in a leadership role
  • Previous experience in the area of drilling management and team coordination. 
  • Degree in Engineering, Mining, Geotechnics and similar.  
  • Fluency in English
  • Familiarity with Nigerian mining regulations and permitting processes.
