Chemical and Allied Products Plc, a subsidiary of UAC of Nigeria Plc, is the technological licensee of AkzoNobel for Nigeria; (ICI was acquired in 2008 by AkzoNobel, the world’s largest paint producer). CAP Plc evolved from the world-renowned British multinational Imperial Chemical Industries Plc, which formalized its Nigeria operations in 1957 under ICI Exports Limited. In 1965, ICI Exports Limited changed its name to ICI Nigeria Limited and in 1968 it subsumed the paints company.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Treasury Manager

Location:  Lagos
Employment Type: Full Time

Objectives

  • Manage the Treasury function and be responsible for planning and developing reports that will aid decision making in importation, fund, interest and exchange risk management in a manner that will improve profitability to the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Efficient supervision of the Treasury function - trade finance, bank reconciliation, payments etc.
  • Strong and effective cash management through functional and efficient cashflow planning, providing daily and monthly forecasts to aid business decisions.
  • Effective supervision of Trade and payment units in line with approved policy and authorization limits.
  • Management of offshore and onshore trade charges
  • Providing investment analysis and options to support excess cash placement.
  • Take responsibility for accuracy and completeness of monthly interest expense and accruals.
  • Be responsible for effective supervision and monitoring of import and export documentation plus other related activities.
  • Review service level agreement with banks on quarterly basis and develop reports to track compliance with agreed performance level.
  • Review of all LCs related and bank charges ensuring the charges align with underlining agreement and facility documents.
  • Review of bank reconciliations and confirming reconciling items are cleared within 72 hours of reconciliation completion. Reconciliation on a T+2 basis.
  • Be responsible for daily, weekly, monthly, and year-end Treasury activities reporting.
  • Management of bank relationship
  • Supervision of timely and effective local suppliers and staff payments, ensuring adequate and approved documentation is obtained before all payments.
  • Effective coordination of foreign supplier’s bill settlement, communication and reconciliation
  • Advise on Fx hedging options.
  • Carryout in a timeous fashion, other responsibility assigned by the Finance Controller and the CFO

Requirements
Education:

  • BSc/HND in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Banking and Finance Economics or any related discipline ACA, ACCA.
  • Relevant professional qualification will be an added advantage MSC, MBA.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience in a structured organization with very good treasury management background
