Job Title: Transport Manager
Location: Lagos
Job Summary
- The Transport Manager plan, organize, direct, manage, evaluate and will be responsible for the operations and budget of transportation departments; movement of goods or companies involved in supply chain services.
- He also ensures that shipments into or out of an organization are handled swiftly, safely, and within budget constraints.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, organize, direct, manage, and evaluate the operations and budget of transportation departments or transportation companies
- Direct the activities of staff in relation to transportation operations including dispatching, routing, and tracking transportation vehicles
- Direct the effectiveness of private, third party and contract carriage systems
- Work with international carriers and freight forwarders to streamline the flow of goods across international borders and through customs
- Ensure customer goods move from production through the supply chain to the end user
- Interview, select, coach, train, manage and appraise the performance of transportation personnel
- Remain current with latest transportation technology systems and procedures
- Negotiate with carriers, warehouse operators and insurance company representatives for services and preferential rates
- Negotiate and authorize contracts, and direct procurement related to transportation operational needs
- Direct and manage corporate governance and regulatory compliance procedures related to transportation activities
- Lead all distribution and transportation planning and strategic activities and conduct investigations to determine causes of transportation accidents and suggestion on safety procedures
- Prepare management recommendations, such as proposed fee and tariff increases or schedule changes
- Recommend or authorize capital expenditures for acquisition of new equipment or property to increase efficiency and services of transportation operations
Qualifications And Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent
- Commercial Driver’s License
- 5 years’ experience in similar role
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:
- Experienced in management or supervision and knowledge of transportation system
- Technology proficient, crucial thinking, time management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, transportation principles and methods, material handling, administration and management
- Familiar with shipment options, legal issues, government regulations, safety procedures and computer applications.
- Proven skills in leadership, management and team management
Job Title: Visa & Immigration Coordinator
Location: Lagos
Job Summary
- The Visa and Immigration (V&I) Coordinator is responsible to arrange the necessary immigration documentation/permits for Assignees.
Key Responsibilities
- Manages and executes the V&I process for each individual case from beginning to the end, according to the agreed procedures
- Informs all parties on the necessary V&I steps to be taken in an effective and efficient way
- Promptly and properly provides the Relocation Advisor with appropriate emails for assignee/Transfer Advisor; Works proactively and manages expectations
- Provides non-case related ad-hoc consultancy
- Ensures the Relocation Advisor is updated on the process at all times, providing all relevant information to perform her task
- Completes administrative duties associated with the immigration case management; escalates any bottle-necks in the process to the Senior Management
- Brings forward suggestions for updates/improvements of internal and external V&I procedures, processes etc.
- Ensures compliance in the respective countries regarding visa procedures; coordinates solution oriented immigration processes
- Communicates effectively with immigration authorities; controls performance of international service network
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in any relevant discipline
- 5 years’ experience in an international environment, preferably regarding visa and immigration or, if not, within the field of international mobility or customer service
- Excellent command of the English language, other foreign languages is an added advantage
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with documents and forms (ability to understand and execute documents and forms) Organizational skills and ability to identify priorities
- Strong commitment to customer service flexible, proactive, team player, enthusiastic IT skills
- Service focused, result driven, team work, taking ownership, empathy, professionalism and initiative
