Training Officer at International NGO Safety Organisation


International NGO Safety Organisation (INSO) - Founded in 2011, the International NGO Safety Organisation (INSO) is a British charity that supports the safety of aid workers by establishing safety coordination platforms in insecure contexts. INSO provides registered NGOs with a range of free services including real-time incident tracking, analytical reports, safety related data and mapping, crisis management support, staff orientations and training.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Training Officer

Location: Abuja

Overall Purpose of Role

  • Responsible for conducting, facilitating, and delivering high quality training and providing support to the Training Manager in courses design and development, monitoring and evaluating training delivery and impact, as well as the development of future training provisions.
  • This is a full-time position based in Abuja, Nigeria, with possible travels within the country. You will report to the Training Manager

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Management Team to assess training needs.
  • Facilitate training advertising and delivery in all regional INSO bases and branches.
  • Ensure the achievement of the educational objectives for each training session.
  • Prepare training materials such as module summaries, videos, and presentations,
  • Facilitate in developing course appraisal and feedback systems to monitor training delivery and impact.
  • Participate in the planning and organization of training.
  • Participate in the management of equipment and preparation of training spaces,
  • Maintain a database of all training materials,
  • Plan and monitor purchases of training materials.
  • Ensure post-training reporting.
  • Participate in the improvement and monitoring of training monitoring tools.
  • Carry out any other task as assigned.

Person Specification
Knowledge, Skills and Experience;

  • A Degree in Education or equivalent relevant and practical experience
  • Excellent English and French language skills, both written and verbal
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably with NGOs.
  • Excellent oral expression
  • Experience/knowledge of NGO Safety and Security

Nice to have:

  • First Aid qualifications
  •  Mastery of other national languages
  • Knowledge of adult learning methodologies, adult education, and interest in vocational training.
