Technical Sales Manager at Nigerian Foundries Group


Nigerian Foundries Group is a 53-year old reverse engineering group of companies that offers tailor-made products and solutions to the West African Industries. We produce ferrous & non-ferrous castings, test/counter weights, a variety of fabrications and components made by additive manufacturing (3D Printing). In addition, we have heat treatment, pattern making and machining facilities.

Job Title: Technical Sales Manager

Location: Lagos

Job Objective

  • To be the focal person that will ensure the Commercial dept continues its sales growth in an aggressive manner.

Job Summary

  • Be the hands-on person that will be responsible for understanding the engineering challenges faced by clients and then finding a way to solve them.
  • Lead a team of young millennials and Gen Z in a way that sees the company consolidate its growth and open up new markets.
  • Must be energetic and have a can-do attitude.

Academic Qualifications

  • Minimum, Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Chemistry.
  • At least 5 years experience in a related Sales/Commercial function within a manufacturing/industrial industry.
  • However, candidates with up to 5 to 10 years of experience selling to Cement, Mining, and Construction industries can apply, even if they don’t have the above academic qualification.

Specific Skills:
Sales and Business Development:

  • Proven experience in driving sales growth, identifying new opportunities, and securing new clients within the cement, mining, quarry, and mineral processing industries.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, industry professionals, and key stakeholders.
  • Exceptional networking skills to expand the company's reach and generate business leads.

Market and Industry Knowledge:

  • Broad knowledge base across various topics related to the cement, mining, quarry, and mineral processing industries.
  • Understanding of industry trends, competitor activities, market dynamics, and regulatory requirements.

Negotiation and Closing Skills:

  • Proficiency in negotiation techniques and the ability to effectively close business deals.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to drive profitable sales agreements.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret market data, identify challenges, and develop effective strategies to overcome them.
  • Ability to analyze customer needs and tailor solutions to meet their requirements.

Self-Motivation and Resilience:

  • High energy levels, self-driven, and motivated to achieve sales targets.
  • Ability to handle rejection and persevere in a demanding and competitive environment.

Teamwork and Collaboration:

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, such as production, engineering, and customer service, to ensure customer satisfaction and successful project delivery.

Proficiency in CRM Software and MS Office Suite:

  • Ability to effectively utilize CRM software for managing customer relationships and sales pipelines.
  • Proficient in using MS Office Suite for creating proposals, contracts, and presentations.

 Adaptability and Willingness to Travel:

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing market conditions and industry dynamics.
