We are recruiting to fill the position below:



Job Title: Technical Safety Engineer

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical support for the developments leading to facilitation of various technical safety workshops for our clients e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, Model Reviews, Fire Safety Risk Assessment, Health Safety Risk Assessment PHA, Bowties development etc.
  • Review technical documentations as may be provided by clients for their various projects to ensure seamless technical safety workshops
  • Ensures operational technical safety studies carried out meets the criteria and minimum standard as demanded by DPR.
  • Ensures that all studies carried out incorporates and implements current Corporate and Strategic Business Unit Standards (NMA), HSE Guidelines & Safety Regulations making it more Stringent than Nigeria Regulatory requirements
  • Supports reviews to help the client to establish fit for purpose and cost-effective approaches to technical safety engineering and asset operability and integrity.
  • Provide Support, Review and Expert advice, relating to Design Integrity, Technical Integrity and Operating Integrity during the Design and Operation phases of projects
  • Knowledge sharing in Process Safety/Technical Safety and provide on-the-job coaching to Junior Process Safety Engineers
  • Design, implement and coordinate a detailed Contractor’s HSE Management System
  • Provide support in other HSE aspects of Company Bid Submissions as may be required
  • Conduct Technical and Safety Reviews
  • Conduct sites/facility inspections, risk assessment.
  • Support Technical Safety workshops serving as a scribe for HAZID, SIL and HAZOP Studies, etc. when required.
  • Provide support to Project and Operation team in all aspects of safety, occupational health, safety and environmental issues.
  • Facilitates Technical Safety Workshops such as Risk Assessment (HAZID, HAZOP-LOPA and PHA, What-if Analysis) sessions as may be required.
  • Liases with regulators to achieve or meet regulatory requirements as may be required by our clients e,g. NMDPRA, NUPRC, Federal Ministry of Environment, NOSRA, NNPC-NAPIMS etc.
  • Seek for opportunities in Technical Safety studies within the oil and gas industry in Nigeria and beyond.
  • Facilitate the development of Operational Safety Cases for the clients as may be required.
  • Support clients in carrying out various Technical Safety studies for both Greenfield and Brownfield developments
  • Attend pre-job, planning and client meetings as required on technical safety related matters.
  • Actively maintains own competence according to standards and pursues continuous professional development
  • Maintains good knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of Technical Safety engineering methodologies, software systems, and design practices as they relate to FEED, Detail Design, Construction, Commissioning, and plant Start-up
  • Regularly update his/her capabilities in new development within the aspects of Technical Safety Services
  • Keep abreast of new developments in both software and technological development for the various aspects of Technical safety.
  • Provides training support and openly shares knowledge
  • Ensures Process safety and General HSE performance metrics are appropriately collated and managed for continuous improvement

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree with 4 - 6 years work experience.
