Job Title: Head of Technology
Location: Lagos
Status: Full Time
Reports to: MD/CEO
Role Summary
- The Head of Technology will be a critical member of the business and technology team focused on architecting innovative solutions, and overcoming technical obstacles to drive successful deployments and create long term customer value.
- Direct and manage technology strategic plans, policies, products, programs and schedules as we engage with global and local customers across various Financial Services, Tech, FMCG, Entertainment, Telco and other verticals.
Key Responsibilities and Main Tasks and Activities
- Lead the use technology to drive corporate objectives.
- Attend client briefings with Product Manager, translating business requirements into technical requirements and solutions;
- Manage relationships, engagements and communications with clients, drawing up architecture, conceptual diagrams, wireframes, prototypes, visual mockups and other technical documents
- Understand and communicate requirements and expectations of clients to teams and internal stakeholders
- Lead a team of experienced and creative web and mobile applications developers to create winning solutions
- In collaboration with team members, lead the development of web and mobile based applications and reports as identified by clients and internal business partners including but not limited to the following technology languages PHP, Laravel, JAVA, Javascript, HTML, CSS, Angular e.t.c
- Ensure complete testing of Web applications–unit and system, engaging users as necessary.
- Plan and build technology team.
- Ensure timely backups of all the important data.
- Identify emerging information technologies to be assimilated, integrated, and introduced within the company.
- Build culture of creativity and innovation within the team.
- Motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes.
- Train and develop teams and ensure continuous knowledge transfer between team members.
- Periodically generate status reports for Management review.

Person Specification
- Up to 5+ years’ experience leading and managing a tech team.
- Degree in Computer Science or similar discipline.
- 7+ years of hands-on web and mobile applications development experience (examples of past work/projects will be required)
- Significant experience with programming languages PHP, Laravel JAVA,
- Excellent working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
- Extensive experience writing technical documentation (specifications, proposals, documentation)
- Interest and curiosity in new technologies.
- Experience with mobile development processes for: iOS, Android
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.

- Experience in client facing situations or roles

Job Purpose
- Controls Technical resourcing, development and management.
- The TM is responsible for managing technical processes and engineering to ensure project success, focused on providing technical services delivery that meets client requirements in a profitable and timely manner.
Duties & Responsibilities
Essential duties/key job roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Meet with client teams and gather technical requirements prior to engagement.
- Responsible for ensuring all technical knowledge, processes, and procedures are developed, and updated.
- Provide direction and technical expertise in design, development and systems integration.
- Responsible for the acquisition, maintenance and management of all operational tools for Technical Development and Management.
- Provide line management for installation and commissioning resources. Conducts periodic performance reviews of team members and identify areas of improvement.
- Provide technical training to teams when required and serve as a technical mentor to team members.
- Provide direction and technical expertise. Ensure standard operating procedures and project guidelines are in place. Must ensure teams follow the correct procedures, policies and documentation requirements across project phases.
- Provide technical assessment and support during recruitment of technical hires.
- Provide high level technical support. Able to make quick decisions and solve technical problems.
- Supporting project managers with task allocation and resource coordination.
- Manage team communication. Conduct regular team meetings and track project progress.
- Identify technical resource and equipment requirements, efficient capacity planning and manage software and hardware availability.

Qualifications
- Minimum Education: B.Sc. / H.N.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or Telecommunications. Any relevant post-graduate degree will be an advantage.
- Minimum Working Experience: A minimum of 8 years working experience in engineering and telecommunication teams with 3 years at supervisory level.
- Required Certification(s): Any relevant professional certification.
Knowledge, Skills & Attitude:
