Technical Director, Education Support Programme at Nigerian Society of Teachers

Nigerian Society of Teachers is the umbrella organization for registered and licensed Professional Teachers in Nigeria. The Society looks after the professional needs of members through well structured programme.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Technical Director, Education Support Programme

Location: Km 1 Yandev - Makurdi Road, Gboko, Benue
Employment Type: Contract
Duration: 12 Months

Job Description

• Will provide rigorous technical support to improve the quality of education interventions across our programme portfolio.
• Formal and non-formal education system strengthening, Curriculum development, implementation of innovative education approaches. Understanding of NST- IQSEP and other approaches to support education programme delivery
• Establish, maintain, and improve active and regular working relationships and take the lead role in representing the principles and work of NST- IQSEP to representative of government authorities, cluster/coordination meetings,
• Work closely with key staff and partners in the design and development of new funding proposals and concepts by providing information and technical inputs to the project design.
• Evaluating the effectiveness of educational programmes, policies, and procedures, and making recommendations for improvement
• Keep abreast, research, benchmark, introduce and implement best and cutting-edge practices on education management and information systems. Institutionalize and disseminate best practices and knowledge learned

Qualifications

• A minimum of good Bachelor's Degree in relevant field with educational background.
• 6-14 years relevant work experience.
• Possession of Master's Degree and relevant professional qualification will be an added advantage.
• Applicant must resident in Job Location.
• Candidate should be able to build capacity through training, mentoring, supervision, and technical support by ensure strategies are developed and implemented to increase sensitivity to gender equity and female empowerment; accountable for ensuring that gender and capacity development activities are integrated into all project activities.
• Candidate should have experience of teaching in a multi-cultural environment.
• Candidate must be knowledgeable on current trends in the world as it relates to education.
• Should be complaint with ICT.
• Candidates without TRCN certificate need not to applied as application will be rejected automatically.
• Candidates for post of Techical Director Education Support Programme must be registered and licensed teacher by the Teacher's Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).
• Must have cognate knowledge of the requirements of area of specialization.

• Ability to effectively represent the organisation in a variety of public and private forums.
• Excellent interpersonal, listening and communication skills.
• A self-starter with a strong results orientation and with high levels of integrity, credibility, and dependability.
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task, work and deliver independently and under pressure and tight deadlines.
