Knowledge / Experience / Competencies/Skills Required

  • Related tertiary qualification in Chemical Engineering or related field with above 15 years of related working experience.
  • Professional Engineer registration is required. Ability to perform as a job leader is preferred. 
  • Computer skills particularly of process simulation packages such as HYSYS, PRO/11 and FLARENET and in commercial software including databases, spreadsheets and word processing packages.
  • Good report writing skills
  • Demonstrates initiative, driven to continually improve own performance and able to work independently and with teams.
  • Works under general supervision of Lead Discipline Engineer
  • Makes informed decisions when appropriate
  • Works to a given schedule
  • Proficient budgetary responsibility
  • Front End Design experience covering project scope development.
  • Proficient in PC Skills (including CAD, Microstation CAD systems if applicable)
  • Requires communication skills to be able to successfully work in a team environment and communicate effectively with other disciplines.
  • Be able to carry out some complex calculations with ability to use at least two (2) design/calculation software
  • An excellent working knowledge of latest applicable codes and standards, design practices and design quality standards.
  • Produces accurate work and demonstrates attention to detail

Other Relevant Information:

  • Limited travel required
  • Work require liaising with other disciplines to develop design
