Job Title: Subsea Structural Engineer

Location: Lagos

Description 

  • Our client is looking to hire a Subsea Structural Enginee, who will do technical tasks assigned by the Project Structural Lead such as structural analyses, calculations, design, verification or study activities, Interface with other Project Specialists and Designers, Co-ordinate and review technical activities performed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform offshore structural analysis, design, verification and study activities assigned by the Project Structural Lead.
  • Review project specification documentation
  • Perform structural strength verification of subsea FLETs, ILTs and other infield structures in line with project requirements
  • Interface with draftsmen to produce design drawings for the subsea structures, sea fastening and installation aids.
  • Interpretate correctly and apply main international Codes, standards and regulations for subsea FLETs, ILTs and other infield structure designs.
  • Design pipings subsea structural systems using appropriate software
  • Prepare technical design reports and calculation notes for structural verifications
  • Perform global and detailed local analysis of subsea FLETs, ILTs and other infield structures (including the sea fastening and installation aids) using SACs and Abaqus FEA respectively
  • Interface with project flowline, jumpers and geotechnical specialists whenever required for inputs to perform subsea structure design

Educational Qualification Required

  • Engineering Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering

Experience Required: 

  • Minimum of 3 years working experience in a similar position.

Key Skills and Abilities:

  • Abaqus FEA
  • SACs
  • Knowledge of MathCAD for mathematical computation
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office for technical reporting is an advantage
  • Applicable Overtime Rates
  • Weekdays / Saturdays: 150%
  • Public Holidays/Sundays (where approved by the client): 200%.
