  • The Subsea Controls Technician will be responsible for rendering operation services on a variety of different Subsea Equipment and provide technical advice into customer activities for deep water operation.
  • The focus area are execution of engineering/operational task and integrity for Subsea Controls Systems (Software, hydraulic power unit (HPU), Master control system (MCS), subsea control unit (SCU) umbilical, subsea control module (SCM), hardware, etc.)
Essential Responsibilities
  • Need to have extensive knowledge of subsea controls equipment and system, proven track record in ability to interface with other functional team and ensure delivery of a reliable subsea controls system.
  • Provide technical engineering and operation support to offshore operation and onshore operating function.
He/She will be responsible for:
  • Maintain, produce procedure, report and provide technical support.
  • Able to deliver subsea controls system based on requirements for:- Subsea systems, equipment and their interface - Subsea Control Module- Hydraulic Power Unit.- Master Control System- Umbilical’s and distribution systems- Subsea power, instrumentation and control distribution.- Subsea peripheral equipment / instruments.
  • Delivery of subsea control and distribution systems within BHGE subsea projects, including safety, schedule and quality from definition through to operation.
  • Ensure all activity is carried out in line with company quality, HSE systems including Toolbox talks, risk assessment, Stop work system, incident reporting and risk control plan.
  • Install, commission, maintain, repair, fault find company supplied production controls system in line with company procedure and O&M’s
  • Demonstrate ability to problem solve and fault finding on systems that are currently installed.
  • Train new workshop technicians/engineer and report to manager were appropriate.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • A valid NYSC discharge or exemption certificate is required (please indicate clearly on your resume)Good interpersonal skills
  • Must exhibit effective written and oral communication skills
  • Must be able to work independently and within a team environment
  • Should be self-starter and able to take initiative as required.
  • Demonstrate the ability to problem solve and fault finding on systems.
  • B.Sc degree or HND in Controls or Electrical &Electronic or Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years hands-on working experience in the oil and gas industry specifically in Subsea Controls area.

  • Must be capable of simultaneously managing multiple task
  • Must exhibit effective written and oral communication skills
  • GE subsea Controls knowledge would be highly advantageous
  • Demonstrate ability to establish and maintain good customer relationship
  • Good working knowledge of subsea controls system
  • Demonstrable commitment to HSE and Quality
  • Must have excellent organisation and interpersonal skills
