Job Title: Structural Engineer - Compliance and Standardization

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Position Overview

  • As a Structural Engineer, you will be part of a team responsible for ensuring that all designs and drawings submitted by developers meet the planning and construction regulations of EACML.
  • Your primary role will be to review, analyse, and approve plans, specifications, and designs for new developments and ensure they meet the required standards.
  • You will also be responsible for providing guidance and technical support to the development team to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyse engineering designs, specifications, and drawings submitted by developers.
  • Ensure compliance with EACML's planning and construction regulations.
  • Conduct site visits and lab tests to verify that the construction is in line with the
  • approved plans and regulations.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to the development team to ensure
  • compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations for the development team and management.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the EACML team to ensure the overall
  • success of the development projects.
  • Co-manage the Eko Atlantic testing lab, by extension of the above stated
  • Identify and provide solutions to design and construction issues that may arise during
  • the project.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Registration with COREN and The Institute of Structural Engineers
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in structural engineering, construction, or a related field.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering designs, specifications, and drawings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other related software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office applications i.e., Word; Excel; PowerPoint
