Job Title: Sports Marketing Manager

Location: Lagos
Schedule: Full-time

Job Description
Start and Improve a Highly Credible Athletes Programme:

  • Selecting relevant national sports personalities with a perfect brand fit and optimize impact and efficiency via professional target setting and controlling. Servicing with the best individual package (performance, marketing, communication). 
  • Provide creative improvements - the range of disciplines/ sports/ playgrounds are (nearly) unlimited.

National Event Program Planning:

  • Design, develop and improve an innovative and outstanding national event program by inventing and executing new event and athletes' projects.
  • Develop concepts that are tailor-made and highly relevant for regional and national consumer groups, that offer personal experiences to participants and spectators and creates unique media content.

Cross Program Execution:

  • Establish Red Bull as a credible and functional beverage in the national sports landscape (sport scenes, opinion leaders, sport industry, agencies, media, federations, authorities etc.)

Athlete Management:

  • Maximize usage of Red Bull’s global athletes and event portfolio by using international Red Bull athletes for local activations and sending national participants (Red Bull athletes or other) to foreign Red Bull activities.
  • Identify key relevant sport personalities within the country and start credible product seeding and turn them to Friends of Red Bull
  • Ensure athletes are perfectly branded in right occasions and equipped with latest branding apparel and equipment.

Branding and Communication:

  • Design and contribute unique stories, interesting topics, new formats and top media content for Red Bull Media House and answer all sports-related consumer requests.
  • Make sure international standard branding implementation during national events, 3rd party events and key athlete projects. 

Department Management:

  • Run an extremely motivated national sports department by challenging and developing skills and knowledge of all marketing colleagues; cooperating with top professional and innovative external partners, freelancers and agencies; supervise, direct and support Field Marketing in all sports-related affairs.
  • Run the national sports department with high Red Bull standards in terms of professionalism, wit, cleverness, efficiency, budget transparency, legal, sales orientation, creativity and key with positive mindset and can-do attitude.
  • Responsible for Department’s budget and annual Business Plan.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess relevant qualifications with 4-5 years of previous work experience in sports industry; sport, events or marketing agency; sport institution or federation; or as a journalist, professional athlete or trainer.
  • Able to pursue a global company vision: management of strategy, marketing, communication, logistic, finance, legal and sales-oriented challenges.
  • Creative, innovative, open-minded, sporty, self-conscious, motivated, capable of working in a team, leadership quality.
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Ability to design and organize events and projects of all scales.
  • Ability to select, service and manage athletes based on sportive performance, marketing and communication facts. An understanding of sports-performance, specialist knowledge and experience.
