We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Project Engineer
Location: Lagos
Key Responsilities
- Planning, managing and directing activities associated with the
implementation of all phases of assigned projects from definition to
execution, including commissioning and hand-over to the respective Site
Operations.
- Providing technical definition and estimates in liaison with
engineering disciplines and Planning & Cost Team in support of
budgeting exercise.
- Developing the project implementation Strategy.
- Plan and prepare the project program covering all phase of each assigned project.
- Interact daily with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field.
- Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule,
plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status.
- Manage equipment supply projects through design, manufacture, testing, delivery and commissioning.
- Ensure equipment and materials are procured and received on
schedule, including the management of fabricators, and compiling and
checking drawings and documentation.
- Provide cost analysis and metrics to area managers and delivery teams to help support decision making.
- Update and maintain contract cost accounts and apply to contractor pay items.
- Provide trending analysis for contracts; managing contract budgets.
- Provide data for input to construction monitoring report.
- Review reports and insure weekly reporting is accurate
- Provide supervision as needed for other cost/schedule technicians as required.
- Review and evaluate contract package , focusing on validating and negotiating cost-related claims.
- Plan the work efficiently to meet agreed deadlines and to meet client expectations
- Conduct site visits, provide technical guidance & Identify risks
- Attend weekly construction progress meetings with the contractors to review and provide input/recommendations on progress
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in relevant Engineering discipline or its equivalent.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in the field
- Experienced in HSE an advantage
- Detailed Engineering and Construction experience with leading
engineering based projects (short timescale and technology driven
projects).
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Excellent knowledge of design and visualisations software.
- Six Sigma certification a plus.
- Demonstrates an intermediate level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes
- Project management and supervision skills desirable
- Excellent oral and written communication skill.
