Job Title: Site Engineer

Location: Zamfara

Job Summary

  • The Site Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing the construction activities on-site, making sure that projects are completed within specified timelines and budgets while adhering to quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed project plans and schedules, including resources allocation.
  • Conduct site surveys, determine positions, levels and alignments and use surveying instruments to set out construction elements.
  • Oversee daily site operations, manage site personnel and ensure tasks are performed according to plan.
  • Monitor construction processes to ensure quality standards are met and perform quality checks on materials and completed work.
  • Enforce health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment 
  • Regulatory requirements Identify and resolve any design construction issues that arise on-site.
  • Establish and enforce quality standards for construction activities.
  • Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements.
  • Promote and enforce a culture of safety on construction sites, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports and change orders.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, architects and local authorities.
  • Conduct project feasibility studies and collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements.
  • Communicating with staff at every level, in a calm, personable way. Allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to optimize project efficiency.
  • Monitor resource utilization and make adjustments as necessary to meet project goals.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks, implementing strategies to mitigate potential issues. Develop contingency plans and regularly update risk assessments throughout the project life cycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or its equivalent from a reputable University
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Profound knowledge of construction methods, materials and legal regulations.
  • Strong leadership, team management and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations, permits and safety standards in the construction industry.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of relevant experience in road and bridge construction.
  • Must be a member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
  • Proficiency in using surveying instruments and CAD software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong project management and leadership skills.

Salary
N250,000 - N450,000 Monthly.
