Job Title: Senior Process Engineer

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Contract

Job Summary

  • The Process Engineer will be responsible for optimizing industrial processes within our organization.
  • This role involves project design, installation, and commissioning of a Gas Plant.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, problem-solving skills, and experience in process improvement methodologies.

Key Responsibilities
Process Design and Optimization:

  • Analyze existing processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement process enhancements to optimize production efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
  • Design new processes and systems, ensuring alignment with company goals and industry standards.

Project Management:

  • Manage process improvement projects from conception to completion, including scope definition, resource allocation, and timeline management.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Track project progress, report on key milestones, and ensure timely delivery of project outcomes.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Collect and analyze data related to process performance, quality, and efficiency.
  • Generate detailed reports and present findings to management and stakeholders.
  • Utilize statistical methods and process simulation software to support decision-making.

Technical Support and Troubleshooting:

  • Provide technical support to production teams, addressing process-related issues and troubleshooting equipment problems.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including process flow diagrams, standard operating procedures, and training materials.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to resolve process and equipment-related challenges.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure processes comply with relevant safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Participate in safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Project management experience and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Relevant years of experience in process engineering, manufacturing, or a related role.
  • Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, MATLAB, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, Excel).
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in a related field.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific processes and regulations.

Working Conditions:

  • Office and production floor environments.
  • May require occasional travel to other company locations or suppliers.
  • Must adhere to all company safety protocols and procedures.
