Senior Inventory Analyst at Tomato Jos Farming and Processing Limited


Tomato Jos is a private equity-backed, fast-growing social enterprise located in Kaduna, Nigeria, that believes in the power of local production for local consumption. Our company aims to supply 10% of the processed tomato market in Nigeria within the next 5 years, sourcing tomatoes from smallholder farmers within our network and making high-quality branded consumer products for Nigeria and West Africa. We currently work with farmers in the Kaduna area, and we are building a tomato processing facility that will be commissioned in early 2021, which will enable us to make value-add tomato products, including tomato paste and Tomato mix.

Job Title: Senior Inventory Analyst

Location: Kaduna
Employment Type: Full-time

Other Responsibilities

  • Record daily deliveries to reconcile inventory.
  • Responsibility and accountability for all of the Inventory accounts on the balance sheet from data entry to reconciliation of the Inventory accounts
  • Develops inventory analysis reports and analyzing variances and provides recommendations to management regarding process improvements
  • Ensure that there is monthly stock taking for the warehouse
  • Inspect the levels of Stock to identify shortages.
  • Analyze data to anticipate future needs.
  • Use software to monitor demand and document characteristics of inventory.
  • Place orders to replenish stock avoiding insufficiencies or excessive surplus.
  • Evaluate suppliers to achieve cost-effective deals and maintain trust relationships.
  • Collaborate with other staff to ensure business goals are met.
  • Report to upper management on stock levels, issues, etc.
  • Preparing the inventories, maintaining the stock records using computerized systems for entering the records, and being accountable for checking the supply invoice with the purchase order.
  • To be involved in the reconciliation of physical stock with the stock in the system.
  • Ensure product stock is adequate for all distribution channels and can cover direct demand from staff.
  • Devise ways to optimize inventory control procedures.
  • Any other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • Stamina to work round the clock during peak seasons.
  • Working knowledge of inventory cost flows and the related impact on financial statements
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office especially MS Excel.
  • Arithmetically inclined.
  • Inventory accounting experience.
  • 2 years experience in inventory management.
  • The ability to use inventory management software is an advantage
  • Must be meticulous, proactive, teachable, and willing to learn
  • Good interpersonal and effective communication skills.
