Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer
Location: Lagos 
Employment Type: Full-time

Main Duty

  • This position will be responsible for Designing and Engineering work, planning and overseeing installation, Testing and Commissioning of all electrical power equipment and systems related toCombined Cycle Captive Power plant.

Area of Expertise

  • Expertise in design engineering of GIS switchyard having system voltage 220 – 400 kV and above, Medium and Low Voltage power systems, MV Generators and auxiliaries, GSUT/UAT/ST Transformers, MV/LV Motors, MV/LV VFDs, SEE, SFC, PMS, MV/LV MCCs, 330kV Transmission lines, BSDG & EDG, DC systems & UPS System, Earthing, Lightning and Illumination. Managing technical discussions with Clients, Consultants, Suppliers, Subcontractors, OEM, etc.

Job Description

  • Support all the phases of the project cycle from Concept, Design, and engineering to the Operation of the completion of the Combined Cycle Power plant.
  • Review all power system design and engineering documents from Consultants and Suppliers.
  • Work with International codes, Standards, and recommended practices for design and selection of Electrical equipment.
  • Conduct / Manage technical discussions with the client, Consultants, suppliers, sub-contractors, OEM, etc
  • Overall knowledge of other related interconnected discipline systems in CCPP. Routing of IPBD, 330 kV Gas insulated bus ducts (GIB)
  • Preparation of Key SLD, MV/LV switchgear SLDs, DC/UPS SLDs, Block logic and interlocking diagrams, etc.
  • Sr design engineering responsibility of sizing power transformer, MV/LV switchgear, DC/UPS system, batteries, GCB, MV/LV cables, plant Lighting and earthing calculations, Lighting system, EDG, IPBD, etc.
  • Interlocks and protection - wiring and instrument signals and drawings.
  • Off-grid power plant projects and operations would be an added advantage.
  • Gas turbine black start, Emergency shut down, etc.
  • Optimization of sizing/ BOQs of Cable, cable tray, earthing & lighting, optimization of plant equipment sizing such as MV/LV switchgear, Service transformers, etc.
  • Transformer protection, Generator protection, Switchgear protection schemes, and overall Trip matrix concept.
  • Preparation of cable schedules, cable routing, cable sizing, ACDB boards, BOQ of power and control cables, BOQ of cable trays, plant Lighting layouts, earthing layouts & Lightning protection layouts.
  • Review BOP mechanical packages such as DM plant, ETP, Air compressor, ACW/CCW pumps, Fire water system, Cooling Tower, EOT cranes, HVAC, Motor operated valves, Boiler feed pumps, CEP, etc.
  • Perform detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and tests.
  • Work on Main plant equipment such as GTG, STG, HRSG, Exhaust Gas Bypass System, etc., and other interconnected discipline systems.
  • Preparation of electrical drawings and specifications for the new CCPP project.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and consultants to determine project requirements, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Responsible for Design engineering and supervising work done by the Installation and Testing team during project execution.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 10 - 15 years experience.
