7Eleven Consultancy services is a company that runs a full HR services but in a consulting role. Such services are recruitment, organisation development, payroll management, training, etc.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Contract
Key Responsibilities
- To keep financial records; electronic and paper, in accordance with company's financial procedures.
- To apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports.
- Analyze company's financial position detailing assets, liabilities and capital, and produce quarterly reports to summarize current company's financial position.
- Assist the Executive Director with annual budget preparation, development of program budgets.
- Maintain and reconcile payroll, reconcile financial journals and records for the general ledger.
- Maintain company's financial accounting system in line with global accounting practice.
- Assist Executive Director in monitoring and overseeing a cash management system.
- Ensure timeliness of work and accounting functions.
- Preparation and timely provision of well-articulated periodic financial reports using relevant Microsoft office tools and Peachtree package.
- Reviews and processes all incoming receivables and contributions, and enters transactions into database system.
- Prepares all bank deposits and transfers as well as reconciliation.
- To prepare monthly bank reconciliations
- To administer salary payments
- To prepare budgets and cash flow forecast in consultation with Executive Director/Director Operations
- Maintains confidentiality of donor/donations with high level of discretion.
- Liaise with other staffs to maintain up to date financial records relating to receivables, payables and expense accounts.
- Ensure petty cash is reviewed and updated ensuring that there is up to date records.
- Track and ensure strict compliance of all grant and contract budgets.
- Ensure that all input onto Peachtree Premium for Not-for-Profit accounting system are correctly recorded by regularly monitoring and reviewing the accounts.
- Ensure documentation relating to payments are duly approved.
- Maintain the inventory file to support purchases of all equipment/assets.
- Maintain files on receipts, cheques, back-up documentation and invoices.
- Assist with various computer related issues, including daily and monthly back-up, program installation, problem diagnosis and repair.
- Undertake other relevant matters assigned by the company.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's B.Sc. or HND in Accounting or related field (management accounting)
- Three years working experience, preferably in an NGO environment.
- Experience in budgeting, including integration of program budgets.
Specific Requirements:
- Proficiency in the use of software packages, Microsoft office especially excel, QuickBooks and SAP.
Competencies:
- Analytical, numerate and able to pay attention to detail and follow procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
