We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 



Job Title: School Nurse (Wellness Officer)

Location: Sangotedo Ajah, Lagos.
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • The primary responsibility of this role is to provide world class health care attention to staff and participants in the school and also develop and implement practices aimed at making the crèche functional and in conformity with global standards.

Essential duties / key job roles and responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

  • Prompt response to emergencies in the school and referral to the hospital if necessary
  • Follow up on health related issues for both staff and participant within and outside the school sick bay
  • Hospital visits for staff and participants when necessary
  • Proper auditing of drugs in the school
  • Proper care and maintenance of sick bay equipment
  • Supervision of the Crèche and Nanny
  • Conduct First-aid workshop for staff as often as required
  • Initiate health and safety programmes or precautions school wide
  • Provide monthly report of Crèche and Sick Bay activities
  • Stocking of first aid boxes and sick bay with drugs required in emergencies
  • Prompt provision of drugs/medication to the school
  • Act as liaison between the school and HMOs; follow up on staff health care issues and advise as appropriate
  • Ensure necessary tests required for new employees and Operations staff are conducted as at when due
  • Organization of the annual wellness programme
  • Any other relevant responsibility to be assigned by the line manager from time to time

Qualifications / Requirements

  • B.Sc / Diploma in Nursing.

  • Knowledge of drug administration
  • Ability to ensure confidentiality of information

  • Sensitivity to diversity and cultural differences
  • Knowledge and experience in paediatrics.

Professional Qualification:

  • RN (Registered Nurse)

Experience:

  • The candidate should have at least 3 - 5 years of experience as a qualified practising nurse
  • Proven experience negotiating HMO contracts will be an added advantage
