Safety Officer at Sir Mefe International Limited


Sir Mefe International Limited an oilfield servicing company is seeking a highly organized and motivated Safety Officer to join our team. As a Safety Officer with integrity, you will be responsible for ensuring that safety is thoroughly observed throughout the duration of the project.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

 

Job Title: Safety Officer

Location: Warri, Delta
Employment Type: Contract

Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure that safety measures are in place and adequately maintained.
  • Investigating accidents and incidents to determine their root causes, and recommending corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Providing safety training for employees, including hazard recognition, safe work practices, and emergency response procedures.
  • Ensuring that all personnel wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow established safety protocols.
  • Coordinating with management, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to address safety concerns and improve overall safety performance.
  • Maintaining accurate records of safety-related activities, such as inspections, incident reports, and employee training.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Health and Safety Certifications such as HSE Level 3, NEBOSH, etc.
  • 5 to 7 years experience working as a Health and Safety Officer in the oil and gas industry.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and industry standards, such as the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines.
  • Good public speaking skills
  • Leadership skills.
  • Location: This position is located in Onshore Area Warri, Nigeria. Applicants living within the company's location in Warri, Nigeria will be considered.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey safety information to employees and collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills to identify potential hazards and develop appropriate safety measures.
  • Good organization skills
  • Good analytical skills and the ability to think critically
