  • Champions the consumer in the development brands strategy to ensure choices reflect all markets insights
  • Leads, guides and implements the research plan to reflect the brand strategy, together with the efficient allocation of marketing research resources across markets
  • Manages expectations about project execution; educates BU brand teams on how the research can and can’t be used
  • Manages agency relationships to ensure delivery of high quality research results, prioritizing speed, agility and cost efficiency
  • Identify opportunities and risks within the brand portfolio, markets, consumers and shoppers; and use above-brand insights to guide strategic thinking forward
  • Work with the Africa Zone Insights team to leverage best practice; and to help execute Zone-led research projects on Regional Brands, Innovation and above-market projects, from time-to-time
  • Maximizes the efficiency and effectiveness of all market research projects and other information sources. Including full integration of platform research e.g. segmentation into marketing and business routines
  • Translates analytics, trends, tracker information and other research findings into meaningful insights, recommendations, and business implications to aid decision making and influence strategic direction
Requirements
  • Self-starter with strong communication skills and proven ability to influence decisions at top levels of an organisation
  • At least 5 years marketing/ research experience – ideally with experience within FMCG
  • Degree in Business, Marketing etc.
  • Strategic thinker
  • Ability to handle complex situations under pressure
  • Clear, concise communicator
  • Experience across all core research and analytical techniques and brand strategy development
  • Commercially astute with proven ability to proactively convert research and insight into tangible business value
