Job Title: Project Engineer (Civils)
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

  • Project Engineer (Civils) holds the knowledge of planning, execution, and monitoring of Civil engineering works.
  • The role is primarily responsible for the preparation of the scope of works, development of design and details for execution, and daily follow-up on timelines, quality of works, and occupational health and safety on work sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily supervision of project activities on-site.
  • Manage small, medium, and large civil engineering projects.
  • Provide civil engineering support to other functions per the developed SOP.
  • Develop civil engineering solutions for effective management of projects.
  • Applying best practices in the management of varying contractors on projects toward achieving project objectives.
  • Work with consultants on various scales of engineering projects.
  • Perform all standard checks on projects and identify flaws firsthand.
  • Build knowledge of complex civil engineering projects.
  • Build system knowledge in CCHBC manufacturing and logistics operations.
  • Manage the implementation of scope-change procedures on Projects.
  • Strong interpersonal relationships with Internal and external customers.
  • Implementation of CCHBC engineering standards on the project site.
  • Daily manage Occupational health & safety on sites.
  • Drive implementation of project QC/QA on sites.
  • Perform valuations on ongoing projects for payments for Finance entities and other holding entities on time and accurately.
  • Periodic tracking of project timelines, identifying variances, and developing corrective action plans
  • Periodic tracking of project cost, report variances, and execution handover protocols

  • Ability to Work with limited supervision.
  • Effective use of AutoCAD, Structural design (manual & Soft tools), MS Project, and MS Office Suite
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • SAP knowledge is an added advantage.
  • Time management skills.

Education / Knowledge

  • Formal Education: Civil / Structural Engineering
  • Any other engineering professional certification is an added advantage.
  • Proven technical experience.
  • Proven experience in Food & beverage or general manufacturing industries is required.
