Job Title: Program / Project Assistant - Dangote Sugar Refinery

Job Description

  • The Program Assistant will support the efficient execution of the Backward Integration Program for the Sugar Refinery.
  • This role involves managing communications, coordinating program activities, and providing administrative support to the Head of the Unit.
  • The ideal candidate will act as a liaison between the unit and other stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication and effective program management.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and follow up on the communication plan for the program.
  • Act as the focal point for all external communications and maintain effective liaison with other business units.
  • Manage calendars, schedule appointments, and send reminders for upcoming meetings and deadlines.
  • Draft, proofread, and distribute letters, reports, presentations, and other documents.
  • Ensure documents are well-formatted, error-free, and adhere to company standards.
  • Maintain program records, track project timelines, and ensure compliance with internal policies.
  • Provide logistical support for events, workshops, and trainings related to the program.
  • Attend program meetings, take detailed minutes of meetings (MOM), and follow up on action items.
  • Ensure all meeting documents are prepared and distributed promptly.
  • Control and organize emails and other communications for the Head of the Unit.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Administration, Business Management, or a related field. An MBA or additional certifications in program management would be an advantage.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in program management, office management, or administrative support at a senior level, preferably in the manufacturing or sugar industry.

Required Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • A collaborative mindset, with a willingness to support team members and engage with various stakeholders.
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
  • Adaptable and able to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Understanding of project management principles is an advantage.
  • Proactive and resourceful, with a strong ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
