Job Title: Planning Engineer

Location: Ikot Abasi, Akwa Ibom

Job Brief

  • Sterling Petrochemical & Fertilizer Limited (SPFL) is a subsidiary of Sterling Oil Exploration and Energy Production Company (SPEECO) currently searching for a highly skilled and experienced Planning Engineer who can determine, develop the most suitable, cost effective and viable construction and engineering methods for projects.
  • The preferred candidate would work closely with a team of other engineers, site workers, managers, and architects to develop and identify new growth opportunities and determine efficient resources for the company’s projects.
  • It is expected that the suitable candidate would have knowledge of various Planning Engineering Functions.

Preferred Sector:

  • Oil & Gas
  • Manufacturing
  • Minning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field - Sciences or Engineering
  • Primavera P6 | Microsoft Project| Project Planning and Controlling | Microsoft Excel | Budgeting.
  • 15 - 20 years relevant work experience.

The preferred candidate should have previous experience in the following Planning Engineer functions:

  • Creating Plans and Schedule: Knowledge and experience in creating a sound plan to complete a project effectively.
  • Participate in regular meetings with clients, architects, and contractors to discuss current and upcoming projects.
  • Support the weight and aim to prevent deformation, breaking or catastrophic failure during and after the projects.
  • Ensure timely and periodic inspection and maintenance to ensure the safety of all employees and the structure.
  • Preparing outstanding technical reports based on engineer analysis and details to guide budget planning.
  • Knowledge in evaluating the integrity of the project components, ensure all structural components fit their purpose under normal operating conditions.
  • Additional preferred candidate should have knowledge in using Project Management tools to trach milestones and address potential issues, contributing to the overall success of the project.
