Job Title: Planning Engineer

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full Time

Job Objective

  • To schedule & prepare safe execution of maintenance activities for Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Civil disciplines in the pipeline operations and asset area in order to meet the Plant Availability, Reliability and Integrity objectives in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner; thereby facilitating continuous realization of Company Annual Business Plans.

Main Responsibilities

  • Drive the plan and schedule all statutory, preventive, and corrective maintenance activities in pipeline operations and assets to ensure company plant availability objectives are achieved.
  • Initiate and facilitate the execution of all necessary safety critical functions as identified, assigned and defined in the bowties to ensure that the effectiveness of the control barriers and recovery measures are maintained.
  • Support pipeline leak repair and project planning & execution coordination, site supervision and inspection & quality control activities.
  • Raising request for the continuous availability of materials and equipment. Liaise with Material-Procurement  teams to ensure early ordering and delivery of materials thereby avoiding losses from labour and equipment idle time/downtime thus improving maintenance efficiency.
  • Drive the Reports on Key Performance Indicators of activities versus plan to ensure timely identification of need for intervention to assure availability of the pipeline assets to sustainable gas supply.
  • Initiate and Facilitate recovery plans using the Computerized Maintenance Management System as tool to ensure reduction of backlog, SC, PC, PMR and Priority 1 & 2 Job Request to acceptable level.
  • Drive the development of the Look Ahead Maintenance Plan and long-term planning (monthly 90days look head and 365days look ahead) and strategic issues to ensure faultless execution of maintenance activities.
  • Manage the short and midterm schedules of maintenance activities (thirty days or less) for effective execution within timeline and budget for the asset team and other functions for maintaining/restoring integrity and reliability/ availability to achieve targeted production. Partakes in the planning of area turnaround activities.
  • Interface with support services to ensure maintenance requirements are provided to ensure that delays are minimized, efficiency of maintenance execution is optimized and raising of deferrals & concessions of jobs where necessary.

Requirements

  • B.Sc or HND in any Engineering discipline with minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in the Oil & Gas production/service industry.
