We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Payroll Officer

Location: Lagos
Job Type: Full Time

The Role
This exciting and challenging role will sit within our People Operations team and be responsible for:

  • Preparing employees’ compensation by the end of each month using payroll software
  • Ensuring that taxes comply with company and various state regulations
  • Preparing monthly reports on payroll expenses
  • Distributing payment statements
  • Responding to employee questions about compensation, taxes, benefits, and deductions
  • Entering new employees’ data (e.g. bank accounts and tax identification numbers) into internal databases
  • Calculating bonuses and allowances.
  • Scheduling various electronic payments and preparing the payroll reports
  • Collecting daily, weekly, and monthly employee time sheets
  • Calculating employee working hours
  • Calculating employee benefits and deductions

Requirements

  • 2+ years proven work experience in similar Payroll Officer roles
  • Experience working in Tech start up (beneficial)
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Ability to deal with confidential information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS and accounting software
  • Advanced Mathematical skills and strong attention to detail
  • Good knowledge of labour legislation
