Incorporated in 2016 in Nigeria, GHI has worked in various sectors such as environmental sustainability, urban planning, sustainable urban development, urban agriculture, social urban innovations, architecture, WASH, solid waste management, recycling activities, environmental activism, etc.

We are recruiting qualified Nigerian candidates to fill the positions below:
Job Title: IT / GIS Specialist
Locations: Abuja (Head office), Kebbi, Sokoto and Niger
Duration: 2 years
Reports to: COP
Travel: 75% (to Kebbi, Sokoto and Niger States)
About the Project
- GHI is working towards implementing The Project for Improved Sustainability of Integrated WASH Services (I-WASH) project in 4 states; Kebbi, Niger, Sokoto and the FCT in collaboration with USAID.
- The project components involves integrating WASH-WRM and watershed studies for the associated catchments in the region. The activities will include provision of integrated WASH facilities, watershed studies of the river basins associated with the 4 states, remote monitoring of the WASH facilities and community advocacy. Expected start date is January 2021 and for a period of 2 years.
Job Description
- Our ideal candidate has a robust experience working on Internet-of-Things (IoT) and GIS.
- The candidate is expected to lead the project component of real-time monitoring of boreholes functionality in rural communities.
- The specialist will support all Monitoring and Evaluation initiatives and data related activities of the project.
- The specialist will support the team in preparing technical specifications of the appropriate hardware and software required to create the required GIS database.
- She/he will coordinate with the project team to recommend a GIS system including the themes and layers to be used.
- The specialist will support spatial data collection, cleaning, quality assurance and analyses.
- Routinely update analysis and maps as required on the project and share these in appropriate and timely manner
- The specialist will work closely with the COP in proposing strategies to increase data use and demand amongst program staff and support the program staff on ways to properly organize and capture program progress and document lessons learned.
- Perform other duties relating to the project assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- B.Sc in Geography, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Geology, Surveying, Urban Planning and Geographic Information Systems or similar.
- Relevant working knowledge of specialized software GIS packages: ArcGIS and QGIS to inform the development of web maps and multiple data visualization options; including the deployment of field based mobile data collection devices (i.e. ODK, CAPI, Kobo toolbox, etc)
- General knowledge of IT skills, including the use and manipulation of SQL databases and spreadsheets and programming languages (R, Python, etc)
- Proficiency in at least one statistical analysis package is an added advantage.
- Experience in map production, complex spatial data collection and management.
- Develop hardened local IoT device software including monitoring, execution and self-healing processes
- At least 5 years experience working on IoT, GIS, sensors and similar technologies.
- Firm understanding of IoT architecture and principles
- Have proficiency in website development
- Build services that communicate with our server technologies
- Problem-solve issues with remote deployment

Job Description
- The Finance and Administrative Officer will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day project operations and coordination of financial activities, including cash needs; reviewing and processing sub-partner, vendor, and consultant payments; managing project procurements, sub-awards, and consultant agreements; supervising travel needs; and deploying staff and project operations, with a focus on maximizing cost-efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting transactions
- Prepare budget forecasts
- Publish financial statements in time
- Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
- Ensure timely bank payments and liaison with banks
- Manage balance sheets and profit / loss statements
- Report on the company's financial health and liquidity
- Audit financial transactions and documents
- Responsible for monitoring availability of funds, monitoring all bank balances and requesting funds transfers when necessary
- Responsible for preparing weekly bank position statement
- Calculates and advise on monthly internal exchange rate
Qualifications
- Applicants must be holders of B.Sc / HND in Accountancy with 5 years of experience.
- Applicants should be holders of professional qualification such as ACA or ACCA.
Job Title: Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist

Job Description
- This individual will lead Collaborating, Learning and Adapting (CLA) activities for the activity.
- S/he will make operational decisions and manage the various components of the program dealing with M&E, will oversee data collection efforts and ensure both the M&E system and results reporting meet the requirements of the WRM-WASH initiative.
- The individual will lead a system for continuous communication with relevant partners, and demonstrate an ability to take critical inputs, feedback, and assessments from evaluation partners to inform changes in program approaches and scale-up.
- The individual will ensure that these and other program components are results-oriented. This individual will have a major focus on achieving results in all areas assuring that the implementation team members are poised to deliver services on schedule.
Qualifications
- She/he will have 3 years of monitoring and evaluation work preferably at the supervisory level.
- She/he must have experience designing and overseeing M&E data collection and reporting for WASH project.
- She/he must have demonstrated ability to implement, operationalize, and manage information collection and assessment system.
- She/he must have demonstrated ability to create and manage information data bases using appropriate software application.
- She/he must have the ability to work in team environment and work with and train non-direct reports to implement program.
- S/he must have strong writing, reporting, and presentational skills
Job Title: Deputy Chief of Party / Senior WASH Advisor

Job Description
- The Deputy Chief of Party oversees the operation and programmatic aspects of the WRM-WASH activity.
Qualifications
- The expected qualifications for the DCOP candidate will include a Master's degree in Water Resources Management, Water Engineering, International Development, Environment or related field of study.
- S/he must have 5 years professional experience in Nigeria, in WASH implementation and in managing or implementing development programs.
- S/he will have excellent management skills and good knowledge of USG procedures and policies, agreement compliance, financial planning and management, procurement, sub award management, and other management support areas/functions, including the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with the political, economic, social, and cultural context of Nigeria is required.
- S/He must have strong understanding of WASH governance structures.
- S/he must have solid foundation in a broad range of WASH subjects preferred, including areas such as innovative sanitation, Water Resources Management, Sanitation marketing, water for the poor, tariff and cost recovery, hygiene promotion, operation and maintenance, institutional strengthening and sector reform.
- S/he must have experience in designing or managing small town or village level water systems.
- S/he must have excellent communication and writing skills.
- S/he must be fluent in English language with a working knowledge of the local language, of the proposed project location.
Job Title: Chief of Party
Locations: Abuja (Head office), Kebbi, Sokoto and Niger

Job Description
- The COP oversees the delivery of the entire program.
- The COP is expected to have the strategic vision, leadership qualities, depth and breadth of technical expertise and experience, a solid professional reputation, management experience, interpersonal skills and written and oral presentation skills to fulfill the diverse technical and managerial requirements of the program description.
Qualifications
- The COP must have at least (7) years of demonstrated experience on similar donor-funded projects.
- She/he will have a minimum seven (5) years of experience with successful water and sanitation projects.
- She/he will have exceptional communication and collaboration skills and a proven track record of interacting with other projects, high-level host country governments, and international agencies.
- The candidate must have a proven track record of working effectively with diverse groups of civil society organizations, media, and government counterparts.
- She/he will have advanced degree or post-graduate degrees in water resource management or engineering, public administration/management or other relevant fields.
- She/he will have demonstrated experience in institutional strengthening, capacity building, and market-based approaches to service delivery.
- She/he must be fluent in English.
