Project Summary
- The Feed the Future Nigeria Livelihoods Project is targeted at
reducing levels of poverty among vulnerable households in 3 States and
6LGAs and 1 AC in Northern Nigeria and FCT.
General Position Summary
- The FFL Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Officer will
support the project on all monitoring and evaluation needs across
implementing area.
- S/he will support the Program Manager in ensuring timely and quality reporting.
- The MEL Officer will provide program staff with the information
and training to capture monitoring metrics regularly and efficiently.
- S/he will support data collection, analysis activities and regularly providing technical oversight, problem-solving and support.
Essential Job Functions
- In coordination with program staff, adapt existing M&E
systems to monitor and evaluate project activities and impact, in
accordance with existing Mercy Corps DM&E guidelines.
- Manage capturing data across program interventions and analyze data collected during monitoring and evaluation activities.
- Oversee data tracking and analysis on regular basis and ensure that data and metrics in field reports are accurate.

Job Title: Sub-award Compliance Officer - Gender Program
Location: Abuja
Program / Department Summary
- The Mercy Corps Finance Department is responsible for all
financial functions in Nigeria, including accounting, payments and
banking, payroll, budgeting, financial reporting, and grant financial
management and compliance.
- The Mercy Corps Finance Department ensures compliance with donor
regulations as well as Mercy Corps' internal policies and procedures.
- In its role as a support to the Program Department, the Finance
Department provides timely reports and assistance to the Country
Director and the Program team to ensure that financial resources are
used efficiently and effectively.
General Position Summary
- Working in the Finance Department under the direction of the
Senior Finance officer-Subaward management, the Subaward compliance
officer-Conflict program is responsible for monitoring subgrants and
subgrantees of Conflict program, to ensure compliance with the terms and
conditions of the subgrant agreement.
- The Subaward compliance officer-Conflict program is also
responsible for tracking subgrants and subgrantee requirements and for
maintaining all subgrant financial files in Conflict program.

- The Educating Nigerian Girls in New Enterprises (ENGINE)
Programme is an initiative to improve learning outcomes and the
economic status of marginalized adolescent girls aged 16-19 in the
Northern Nigerian states of Kano and Kaduna, the Federal Capital
Territory (FCT) and the metropolis of Lagos, Nigeria.
- ENGINE through funding from the UK Department for International
Development’s Girls Education Challenge, the Coca-Cola Company and
other stakeholders supported over 18,000 marginalized girls to reduce
education and financial barriers in its first implementation phase.
- In its second phase, ENGINE 2 will facilitate transition of
these girls into functional literacy, numeracy and scale up their
business opportunities and linkages.
- ENGINE 2 will further increase girls’ and young women’s access
to (1) financial education and life skills; (2) peer to peer networks
and mentoring; and (3) direct assets (materials and savings).
Beneficiaries will be integrated into value chains as well as conduct
other market-driven employment opportunities.
- ENGINE 2 will also work with girls in formal and informal
education to increase their learning opportunities and outcomes to
prepare them for future economic activities and work in the policy

Job Title: Administrative & Logistics Assistant
Location: Abuja
Program / Department Summary
- Mercy Corps has been present in Nigeria since December 2012,
focusing its interventions on adolescent girls' empowerment, economic
development and conflict mitigation. In mid-2014, Mercy Corps has
decided to address the rising humanitarian needs among displaced
households and vulnerable host communities by in the northeast Nigeria
and started its humanitarian program.
- With funding from variety of donors, including OFDA, FFP, EU and
ECHO, the humanitarian program has been focusing on food assistance,
non-food items distribution, protection, livelihoods support, WASH and
capacity building of humanitarian response actors.
- All Mercy Corps interventions in Nigeria are implemented in a conflict and gender sensitive manner.
General Position Summary
- The Admin & Logistics assistant will be responsible for some
of the administrative & logistics functions and will be based in
Abuja .

Essential Job Responsibilities
Administration:
- Maintain staff attendance records.
- Receive, log in and distribute incoming mails and correspondences.
- Greet & receive all visitors, suppliers etc. and direct to proper person or department.
- Monitor contracts (hotels, car hires, generator servicing, and
security, property, cleaning contracts e.c.t) and notify the admin &
logistics officer of expiry dates.

Job Title: Program Officer - Food Commodities
Location: Damboa, Borno
Program/Department Summary
- Mercy Corps Nigeria’s humanitarian program aims to provide
assistance to populations affected by the crisis in Northeast Nigeria.
- With funding from humanitarian donors including WFP, OFDA, FFP,
EU, and ECHO the humanitarian programs engages in several
interventions including but not limited to food assistance, non-food
items (NFI), protection, livelihoods, cash transfers, WASH and capacity
building of humanitarian response actors.
- Mercy Corps is scaling-up and expanding its humanitarian
response in Northeast Nigeria to reach more beneficiaries with
additional assistance in a wider geographic area.
General Position Summary
- The Mercy Corps Program Officer (Food Distribution) will ensure
that all documentations in relation to distributions are regularly
maintained as per donor’s requirement and MC’s standard commodity
management policies and procedures, and made available to the

- Ensure that commodity dispatches are done in accordance with their pre-approved dispatch store release order.
- Carry out truck inspections before commodity are loaded/unloaded
to/from the trucks to ensure the suitability of the trucks to carry
MC’s commodity.
- Coordinate laborers’ activities and ensure there are enough
laborers to support the activities (loading, unloading, reconstitution
of shortage or damaged commodity, warehouse cleaning, restacking,etc.)
- Ensure that all necessary equipment such as scales, filing
cabinets, torches and material such as cleaning, stationary, rodent
control and office furniture are supplied to the warehouse
- Arrange for fumigation of commodities at stores on regular basis to avoid any infestation and damages.
- Provide weekly report to Commodity Manager and Program team
regarding commodity movement, stock available for distribution and any
other issues during the week.
- Do physical count on daily basis and report if any differencesfound between physical count and book balance.
- As needed, perform training on commodity handling to warehouse staff, laborers or iinstitutions/community leaders.
- Fill out Loss and Adjustments Report if any damages or losses
found in the warehouse. Avoid any loss or damages due to negligence.
- Represent Mercy Corps in a professional manner to suppliers,
government officials, local and international community groups,
suppliers, the UN and others as needed.
- Create and sustain a work environment of mutual respect where team members strive to achieve excellence.

Job Title: Sub-award Compliance Officer - Conflict Program

Program / Department Summary
- The Mercy Corps Finance Department is responsible for all
financial functions in Nigeria, including accounting, payments and
banking, payroll, budgeting, financial reporting, and grant financial
management and compliance.
- The Mercy Corps Finance Department ensures compliance with donor
regulations as well as Mercy Corps’ internal policies and procedures.
- In its role as a support to the Program Department, the Finance
Department provides timely reports and assistance to the Country
Director and the Program team to ensure that financial resources are
used efficiently and effectively.
General Position Summary
- Working in the Finance Department under the direction of the
Senior Finance officer-Subaward management, the Subaward compliance
officer-Conflict program is responsible for monitoring subgrants and
subgrantees of Conflict program, to ensure compliance with the terms and
conditions of the subgrant agreement.
- The Subaward compliance officer-Conflict program is also
responsible for tracking subgrants and subgrantee requirements and for
maintaining all subgrant financial files in Conflict program.

- In charge of conflict program subgantee budgets including coding compliance, review and monitoring

Program / Department Summary
- Mercy Corps Nigeria’s North East program aims to provide
assistance to populations affected by the crisis in Northeast Nigeria.
With funding from humanitarian donors including OFDA, FFP, and ECHO the
humanitarian programs engage in several interventions including but not
limited to food assistance, logistics and relief commodities,
protection, livelihoods, WASH and capacity building of humanitarian
response actors.
- Mercy Corps plans to scale up and expand its humanitarian
response in Northeast Nigeria to reach more beneficiaries with
additional and varied assistance in a wider geographic area.
General Position Summary
- Mercy Corps Nigeria is looking to hire two operations Assistants
who will provide support to the Biu office for facilitating and
executing different aspects of Administration, logistics and procurement
responsibilities.
- S/he will work extensively with other departments to ensure that
all program support activities are implemented successfully and timely.

Essential Job Responsibilities
Procurement:
- Assist staff as needed on creating clear and understandable purchase requests and other procurement documentation.

Administration:
- Maintain appropriate filing systems for office correspondence, ensure proper tracking of office correspondence.
- With support from the Operations officer, ensure that the office
runs in a professional and responsible manner including hosting guests,
cleaning, receptionist duties and general contact and liaison with
outside agencies.
- Ensures office has sufficient office supplies, such as stationary, cleaning supplies and office supplies.
- Make all necessary travel and lodging arrangements for staffs
and visitors, and follow up on documentation as well as prompt payment
- Be the focal person for hotel booking in both Gombe and Biu and ensure all payment is made in a timely manner.
