We are recruiting to fill the position of:
Job Title: Occupational Therapist Assistant
Location: Lagos

Role Expectation
- Perform under supervision pre-intervention assessments/ evaluation, including all pertinent tests measurements appropriate for required documentation in a timely manner
- Provide with supervision post assessment reports with required treatment recommendations
- Develop a plan of intervention individualized to each child’s needs based on assessment findings
- Document date, time and session goals/outcome at each session objectively for all programs (in-clinic, school and in-home). Communicate - in a timely manner - with other professionals such information as appropriate to other team members
- Review each child’s records for current diagnosis, past medical history, precautions contraindications
- Provide direct therapy to assigned children in your care in occupational therapy treatment protocols, transfer training, positioning and additionally safety issues
- Adhere to all related regulations regarding client confidentiality record keeping
- Maintain a safe therapy environment
- To use appropriate methods of communication to clients, families and other health professionals to ensure clear, universal communication is given.
- To provide a clear honest service whilst maintaining confidentiality to all individuals involved with our service, including the client, their family and other members of our multidisciplinary team.
- To attend all relevant training and development opportunities available in the clinic, and to actively seek out of house training needed for further development.
- To observe and support providing occupational therapy in schools for children with a range of handwriting, fine motor, co-ordination and concentration difficulties
- To learn and develop an understanding and application of assessments, treatments and reports for children across settings (in-clinic, schools, community and in-home).
- To write occupational therapy specific content to be used for our newsletter, social media pages and website including how occupational therapy can aid children with a wide range of conditions and the services we provide in a clear, universal manner
- To develop a Clinical Professional Development Portfolio and a Personal Development Plan, according to professional standards, that documents the progress of gaining knowledge in areas of clinical expertise required for improving standards for self and service.
Preferred Qualifications
- Candidate should have a minimum of an OND in Occupational Therapy or a related field.
Requirements:
- The preferred candidate should have at least 6 months to one year of experience working with children. Working with children with learning difficulty will be an added advantage.
- Candidate is required to have good Communication skills
- Candidates should be one who pays Attention to detail, follow instructions precisely and complete all tasks to the best of their ability.
- The candidate should have Empathy for children, we expect the candidate applying for this role to care about children.
- The candidate should be Flexibility: have the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
- The candidate is required to be high on his or her Patience threshold this comes in handy whilst helping children learn new skills and helping them overcome challenges. This role requires one that would help our children develop the confidence they need to succeed.
Salary Range
N50,000 - N100,000 / month.
