Job Summary
- The role involves developing documentation and technologies required for the design and implementation of IT applications and services, including hardware, networks, platforms, and middleware.
- The individual will collaborate with information, application, and business architects to align organizational resources toward achieving strategic goals. Key responsibilities include operationalizing networks, automating manual processes, and establishing information security standards to ensure the efficient and secure functioning of the organization's IT infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Strategic Perspective:
- Participates in the strategic decisions about the development and implementation of Interswitch’s products.
- Valuation of requirements and systems in a bid to provide underlying technology to support the organization’s IT demands.
- Breaking down bottlenecks in all technology implementation of the organization with clear and unambiguous designs.
Operations:
- Provides IT infrastructure for all applications and IT services.
- Proactively planning based on the current infrastructure to meet future IT needs.
- Actively participates in the release of products according to stipulated timelines
- Providing schematic design for ideas and products.
- Oversee data collection mechanisms and how they fit into data architecture, partnering with internal and external stakeholders to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Create and maintain technical and/or user documentation to a high standard and backup files to ensure instant recovery if problems occur.
- Research and suggest technical developments to improve the quality of the services deployed.
- Identify, within the team, instances of non-compliance with the organization's policies and procedures and/or relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, reporting these and escalating issues as appropriate.
- Measurement of performance of newly deployed systems and system upgrades.
- Design and select medium complexity storage, data center, network, and client/server environments to design solutions in line with industry best practice.
- Collect business requirements using a variety of methods such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, and workflow analysis to express the requirements in terms of target user roles and goals
Performance Improvement:
- Participate in monthly business review meetings where the department's performance is evaluated.
- Participates in the performance review process, and appraisals.
Requirements
Academic Qualification(s):
- Minimum of Bachelor's Degree / HND in Computer / System / Electrical / Electronic Engineering / Applied Physics / Computer Science or a related discipline
Professional Qualification(s):
- Relevant certification such as ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library), CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional), MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) or CCNA (Cisco Certified
- Network Administrator) MCTS (Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist
Experience (Number of relevant years):
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a similar function
- A master’s degree will be an added advantage.
