National Program Officer at Network of People Living with HIV and AIDS in Nigeria


Network of People Living with HIV and AIDS in Nigeria (NEPWHAN) was established in 1998 as a non-governmental Organization to serve as a collective voice of PLHIV in the Country. The Organization is registered with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Nigeria in September 2004.

NEPWHAN is now Seventeen (17) Years Old as a vibrant patient community network in Nigeria. The network formed since 1998 has established structures at the zonal and all States including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and as well saddled with the responsibility of coordinating, supervising and monitoring activities and programs of over 1, 030 support groups membership across the Federation making it one of the biggest Patient network in Africa. Our GOALNEPWHAN has formed constituent bodies; Association of Youth Living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (APYIN), Association of Women Living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (ASWHAN), Association of Religious Leaders Living with and Personally Affected by HIV/AIDS (NINERELA+) to advocate and provide HIV programming intervention for the specific needs of their targets and members.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:



Job Title: National Program Officer

Location: Abuja (FCT) 
Employment Type: Contract

Responsibilities

  • The Program Officer shall be in-charge of program activities as assigned to them by the Senior Program officer.
  • Attend training, conferences and meetings related to programs
  • Assist the senior program officer in breaking down program activities into detailed projects, with tasks, activities, timeline and scope
  • Participate in routine monitoring visits to project sites, including the conduct of data quality assurance using standard tools.
  • Support daily administrative and technical project implementation
  • Support daily administrative and technical project implementation
  • Liaise with state teams,sub-recipients, consultants, partners etc. for collection, collation and analysis of field date and reports and forward same to the program manager.
  • Coordinates programs at project site and in the office
  • Train and educate data entry clerkson data collection and interpretation
  • Design data collection forms for collating activities done
  • Give reports on activities being carried out by the program department as stipulated in the manual
  • Organize Training/workshops on HIV/AIDS to staff and volunteers
  • Carry out health talks/Health education, nutritional counseling, career counseling and HIV counseling and Testing at project site
  • Conceptualize and draft a monthly work plan for the project.
  • Design data collection forms for collating activities done
  • Maintain a data base for all programs and manages data collected and report
  • Carry out any other assignment as may be directed by the Senior project officer.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Social Sciences or other related disciplines.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills, plus organizational and administrative skills
  • Attentive to details, highly organized and self-motivated.
  • 3 years Previous work experience in Global Fund HIV/TB Grant
  • 5 years’ work experience in NGO/CBO or Int’l organizations implementing HIV/TB Interventions.
  • 3 yrs Working knowledge of Care & Support in HIV interventions in Nigeriaworking with PLHIV, PPW, AGYW/AYP & KP
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft office, including Word, Excel and Power point
