Even in the troubled economy of our great nation, there are many untapped areas. You must not despise little beginnings and it is important to always remember that taking an initial step towards your goal will make you more alert to opportunities that will drive you even closer.
There are many things that we can do on our own, or with little support that will take us to the point where we want to be in life.
Back in February, I met a girl at Owerri who fried and sold groundnuts in bottles. I queued for about 15 minutes to have a chat with her and find out how lucrative the business was. To my utmost surprise, she told me that on average she makes 8,000 Naira daily (240,000 Naira monthly) and her startup capital was less than 50,000 Naira. This is much more than some bank managers earn and one can only wonder why a lot of people (including university/college graduates) spend their limited resources travelling from one state to another in search of jobs that are not even there.
I believe so much in Nigeria and see opportunities everywhere I look. Instead of waiting for that multimillion Naira project, that job advert for which thousands apply, why not start building something today with the thousands that you have already? It may take some time but with persistent effort, prayers and application of wisdom, you will get to where you want to be. And yes, applying wisdom is very important for the book of Ecclesiastes 10:10 says "If the iron is blunt, and one does not sharpen the edge, he must use more strength, but wisdom helps one to succeed".
"While we cannot presume that our own small first steps will immediately produce such astonishing results, we can never know unless we try" and that's according to Blaine Smith.
Stop complaining from this day and think of what you can do to improve your situation.
